I'm not experienced enough to tell you what that is, but it doesn't look good. If you pick up the shell does she just fall out? And there's no smell?

Re: puzzled
each of my crabs have a special spot they like to sit in during the day. They don't hide at all when they sleep, I think it's because my tat is very enclosed for them. But they do each have thier own common pattern they like to follow.

Re: My poor little E "Bug"- UPDATE- She Molted!- Update-bad
it's possible with all the limbs she had to recreate that there just wasn't enough nutrients in her to go around. It's very possible there was no chance to recover from that no matter how much you fed her.

Re: Do your crabs watch crabs in other tanks?
my second E was doing this, looking into and empty tank. Probably thinking, "how the heck do I climb over there for fun".

Re: So he's not molting?
I put loose sand over the exit after a couple days so crabs or items don't fall or dig there. But one of my new guys did the same thing, dug down the came up 2 days later to stuff his face and then went back down the same hole and is now molting.

Re: Molting, adjusting, or dead?
my new crabs are doing the same thing, and I believe I can see a fresh claw from a fresh molt on one of my new PP's under the tank. But the behavior sounds about the same. They are probably about to molt, or try too anyway. Let's hope you rescued them in time.
