Re: Been thinking hard about career choice. Opening a pet st
Thank you both! :D I really appreciate both of your stories. Those family businesses sound exactly like what I would want my shop to be. High standards, good quality, friendly, and helpful. But I've always thought that opening a business is a risky endeavor. Like I said, the idea is just kinda rolli...

Been thinking hard about career choice. Opening a pet store?
I guys! Long time, no talk! So, I'm taking a semester off college starting in January. My heart hasn't been in it this semester and my grades showed it, so why waste my time and money if I'm not sure that this is what I want to do with my life? Not to mention, with a degree in Wildlife Biology, I wo...

Re: Crab changes shells several times even in a day
Yeah I had no idea that they likes a certain type of shell at first! My shell shop... well. I have two. I have one in a shower caddy made to hold soap. It came with suction cups attached and I stuck them to the side of the tank up by the vines and just set some shells in there so they could climb up...

Re: not sure whats up
It's hard to not worry at first. I had one tiny guy down for over two months. o.O I'm still pretty new to this, but I've stopped worrying so much. As long as your conditions are perfect, there's not much you can do or worry about. They'll do their thing, and sometimes their thing is do dig down for ...

Re: How can I tell if he's alive?
Yes, a molted exo never loses its colour, from what I understand. I may be wrong. :o If he is molting, he would have eaten his exo by now, more than likely. He could just be chillin' underground. Two months isn't that bad. I had a tiny little guy that was down for over two months, no idea what he wa...

Re: My Crab Has Been Very Anti Social
Soundsss like a PP. What shape are they eyes? are they more () or more \/ And I don't think that the bahaviour change is a major issue to worry about. But you didn't give a lot of info to go off of. Haha. My crabs have energy swings where they will be active and social. Other times they will just hi...

Re: Breed Personalitys
All I know is that compared to PPs, Es are apparently more active; they climb more, they are more likely to be seen crawlin' around in the daytime.
When I finally get my own apartment I want to get a couple Es for that reason. I've heard they're pretty wild! I dunno about any other breeds though.

Re: first molt....I think
Unseasoned meat. Eggs are great for protein. Crushed eggshells are good too. Although it might be calcium that they're good for. That'll keep them from trying to eat your molter. You can buy things at pet stores too. Krill, shrimp, bloodworms, mealworms. Those are great in protein. Mine have some wo...

Let him do his thing. Don't worry too much. Make sure the temperature and humidity are in the right zones. Feed your crabbies enough protein and they should leave him alone. :]

Re: New crabber, 2/3 crabs Buried for a week, please help
Buy a spray bottle! :D Ideally the humidity should be in the 70%-85% range. They need the moisture to breathe! Make sure your substrate is wet, too. The "soil" [I'm assuming it's some form of coconut bedding] should be moist and the sand shuld be able to hold shape. I'm sure you know that. ^^ I got ...

Agreed, Sky! He is a climbing fiend now that he molted!
But I love reptiles! I have a while to think about getting him one. If he is still interested in years to come it will probably happen.
