Thank you AuzzyJJDude! I didn't even think about having to restart. For some reason I didn't consider them turning to mush lolz. I guess best not to trust the hermits due to their digging.

I had really positive experiences with all my E's. One of them was mean to the rest of the crabs but he didn't actually hurt anyone. Whenever I heard hermit dreams though, 9/10 times he was involved. Mine loved baby rolly pollys (spelling?). Ate them like potato chips. I put about 15 into the tank and they started a colony very quickly. They like the same conditions as hermits and are crustaceans. I have read some hermits like hunting the adults.

One of my crabs was obsessed with popcorn. I saw him once munching on some while watching my lizard. I remembered I hadn't fed them popcorn for a day or so. Turns out he had a hole with a stash of it lolz

A great way to see if they're eating on the sneaks (because they often prefer privacy) is to smooth out the substrate around the dish and then check for footprints in the morning.
