Territorial crab?
My largest crab came back up from a molt this morning. So, naturally, I wanted to watch him for awhile. He decided to change shells, but right as he found a shell he liked, my smallest crab came up and picked a fight over a shell that's way too big for him. I seperated and isolated the smal...

Re: How can I tell if he's alive?
I actually looked under the tank to look at him today, and I saw that he was still alive and had in fact molted. There were pieces of his exo just laying next to his shell which tells me that he had been eating it. I am relived to see that he is still alive.

How can I tell if he's alive?
My largest crab went down about 2 months ago and I can see him on the bottom. It looks like he is just sitting next to his shell, but they way he is positioned implies at least some of his body is in the shell. There is still color in the limbs that I can see. Will a molted exo keep its color? And i...

Haven't seen em' in awhile
My largest crab went down about a month ago while my other stayed up for about a week before proceeding to do the same. If I look at the bottom of the tank I can see one of my crabs. (not sure which as they are in the same type of shell with more or less the same sizes) Are they molting? The food bo...

Re: Maybe molting?
I have had them for about 3 or 4 weeks. They were in the water sometimes and others just on the sponge.

Maybe molting?
My two crabs have been drinking a lot of saltwater, like I said in a post a few days ago; but now one of them has buried himself. Is he molting or destressing?

Salt water
My two crabs are drinking a lot more salt water than they usually do. The freshwater is almost always full. Are they doing this to prepare for a molt? They aren't drinking as much freshwater, so are they able to balance it out?
