Re: Strong Magnets
I did learn about magnaturals after posting my question. They seem well protected in hard plastic so no worries with crabs or rust for that matter. They aren't very strong however, holding up foam based products and aren't cheap. I guess my question was more about regular plastic coated magnets whic...

Strong Magnets
Just out of curiosity does anyone know if using strong magnets to hold objects up in a tank is risky to the glass? I'm afraid the magnet pressure would crack or shatter the glass but I don't know anything about it and can't find an answer on the internet.

Attacking crab
Hi I got a new crab about 6 months ago, as soon as I got it it went for a molt for several months and its pretty big. its now causing trouble to another sizable hermit crab in the tank by latching on to it, they're both chirping loudly. All my hermit crabs are purple pinchers. should I separate the ...

Re: I got scammed.
Yeah they were some of the best prices ive seen so I jumped on it. they did say they would refund the items and the return shipping, but my shipping cost from them was 14 bucks (lowest option) and I;m not sure if they're going to refund that. its not my fault they purposely sent me the wrong sizes. ...

the shells are turbos, 2 jade banded turbos and 2 cammo shells. the cammos (measuring with a ruler) are about 1 and 3/4 opening size and the jades are 2 and 1/4 roughly

I got scammed.
Maybe this isn't the right place to be asking about this, but I ordered off of "Shells of Aquarius" and got these 4 shells that are supposed to have been 1 and 1/4 to 1/12 inch openings and now they're all basically close to or over 2 inch openings. I know for a fact that I read it right, but when I...

Salt water pool cleaning
Just want to know how often I need to clean the water and stuff inside. I just have gravel and I'm using an air stone setup as well so how often should everything be cleaned? if its every few days to a week, is there anything I can add to not have to clean it so often?

Re: Moistening substrate with ease?
Iv'e never calibrated it no, not sure how to do that. I do spray the walls at least twice a day, and if you can imagine a glass top with just a pencil stuck in it to keep the lip open for air thats all thats not sealed.

Moistening substrate with ease?
I have a tank filled with 6 inches of a sand and cocoa fiber mix that drys out every couple of weeks or less. I try to mix in enough water to keep it at sand castle consistency but It never lasts long. Im afraid to keep mixing up the sand because sooner or later a hermit crab will be molting and I d...

Re: My Crab Has Been Very Anti Social
how long have you had your crab for? perhaps your new like me because you don't have many posts yet, but if you haven't had the crab for to long you may not know they have a tenancy to be more shy at times than others. but its always best to find out if there is a reason behind the behavior.

Re: Breed Personalitys
I agree with Whatthemath about E's, and PP's are a bit less shy than E's and come out more often in your hand, also, other species that i don't own but have read about are Ruggies and blueberries. Ruggies I believe are hardy and quite alike in comparison to PP's, and Blueberries all i know is appare...
