Re: Your MASSIVE dream tank (fun idea-sharing)
I like RockyGurly's drawing, I've always liked the idea for having more than just one tank. My dream tank would probably be multiple tanks (4-5) all connected with glass tunnels. Maybe each one could have it's own weather variations and live plant life, too. I once had a dream that I had a crab tank...

Re: Molting or just playing around?
My smallest PP, Dwible, loves to dig. The tank has plenty of sand mounds and holes because of him.

Re: Do Purple Pinchers chirp?
I have 3 PPs, and so far I haven't heard any chirps. I would like to hear it at least once from them, but hopefully not from then being in a bad situation, of course. For now I have to be content with hearing their little shells tap against the glass.

Re: Sheldon tries to tear up the tank
Stories like this is why I love hermit crabs; crazy, weird and sometimes just funny behavior. I had once changed the sand in my tank, making it all straight. In the morning it had looked like an A-bomb went off inside: Somebody spent all night digging holes and making large hills. Some crabbies...

Re: And... he opened the tank??
One of my hermit crabs (Dwable) has learned to climb up one of my tank's corners and "locks" himself in that position for a few hours at a time in the morning and night. When I had opened the lid to change the food and water, he took that opportunity to try and escape. He clung to the outer edge of ...

Crazy crab behavior
I heard a tick tick sound a few minutes ago. I looked around for the source and ended up at the crabies' tank. There was Dweeble climbing up the corner, using his strong little claws to scale up the glue in the corner holding the glass together. He would go a little too much either left or right, sc...

Re: Crab changes shells several times even in a day
I clean out my shells, put them back into the tank in a clean area. In the morning the shells have been moved around, and some are even half buried sometimes. Maybe mine likes them covered in sand. Dwable changed shells for the 1st time, picking a spikey one, of which I joking refer to as Dwable: At...

Synchronized molting?
So, a few days ago I noticed Dwible, my newest and smallest hermit crab, digging alot. He picked himself out a corner, and before I knew it he buried himself underground. Since he's at the edge of the tank, I have a small view of him through the glass. Not long after this, though, Dweeble decided to...

Re: Silver the sneaky bugger
My crabs have changed out of their shells for roughly a day each, only to go right back to the originals.

Never seen this before.
I have 3 hermit crabs, Dweeble, Dwable and the newsest one Dwible. Dweeble was a birthday present, and Iwent out and got Dwable a little while later. I picked Dwible a week later while getting some suppiles from Petsmart. He's smaller than my other 2, and I picked him because he was being bullied in...
