Re: Guide: Shells to Avoid
I have noticed my really super beefy pp's are in magpies over green turbos and many miscellaneous banded turbos. I have one small PP that doesn't go anywhere near shells with round openings! The entire time I have had him he picks almost slot shaped shells! Weirdo! I have one pp that won't leave the...

Re: Molting without Shell
They go down with their shells, are you sure it didn't change shells before it went down? I sure hope it did.

Re: Shell SWAP!
A shell swap would be the direct result of a shell fight. Crab decides it wants Craabs shell, so he shakes him out of it. Crab moves into Craabs shell, and Craab has no choice but to go into Crabs shell. Sometimes the second crab gets either killed or heavily injured, so luckily both your crabs are ...

Re: All 3 crabs buried in same place?!
I don't want to offend anyone, but if you dug her up in a week it would disturb her in the middle of molting. I would give her another good month and a half or two months before you go digging.

Re: E's are crazy!
Craigslist! If you want a cheap tank, defiantly use Craigslist! It will probably take a while for one you want to come up, I was looking for about a month before I got my 75 g. It came with two heating lamps, I got it for $80.

Re: E's are crazy!
My only E that's up is never sleeping! I love this crab! A few times he has hung out right up against the glass, he isn't scared of me at all! Normally when I walk by half the tank of crabs vanishes. I have smashed my face against the glass, so close my eyes cross! He doesn't even flinch, he just ha...

Re: E's are crazy!
I believe the 1$ a gallon sale doesn't apply to tanks over 55(?) gallons. Don't quote me on that though! I just somehow remember that being said a few times here. I just put the 1st E that was ready into the 75 :) I know it was early, actually super early! I had to though, he was killing the 20 and ...

E's are crazy!
So the first day I brought home my three E's two went down right away. I have been having a ton of fun watching the third today! The first two days she really scared me, because it seemed like I was going to have a sad case of pps. Today was so amusing :) I have a tall plant (the base is in the grou...

Re: Inactive Hermies
How deep is your sand? What type of sand are you using? What are your temp and humidity levels? Hermit crabs need dishes of both salt and fresh water deep enough for them to fully submerge in. Salt water is mixed using an ocean water mix from the fish department in a pet store. Popular brand are Ins...

Re: Do crabs smell?
Sometimes they go down for a while to chill before molting, and come back up to eat and drink and roll in the saltwater right before molting. I'm guessing he is going down to molt now, yay!

Re: New Shell Too Big?
If it is really big than chances are he will switch out. You don't need to worry about the shell your crab is in unless it is broken. After all some like them small, some like them big. About the old shell, the only thing you have to do is put it in a small bowl with water to check for mites. It it ...
