It's totally fake. Ceramic. Got it at Garden Ridge/At Home for $12 I think. Real ones are pricey!

Re: 4 months and still no sign...
He was my most social crab, came out all hours, never shy around humans. He loved hanging from the top of the tank, too. Haven't seen or heard him for a very long time. So, yeah I'm pretty sure...

4 months and still no sign...
...of life. I have a PP "Terrance" in a separate tank due to the bigger crabs removing all but three of his legs (both claws!). He molted twice in solitary, grew his claws back and seemed to be on the mend. Those molts were fairly short and close together, though I did not keep a journal or anything...

Tales of Adventure and Escape!
(Probably not as exciting to many others, but this is the most action in the crabitat since we first moved them in!) A quick descrip of my clan: Spike came up from his first molt with us just a few days ago. Red almost never comes out and retreats quickly whenever I catch him out and about. So yeste...

Re: Is he depressed??
Well my son had the brilliant idea to move Red (big crab) and his log this morning! I talked to him about leaving him be and then I moved the log back to where it was (dark corner away from our side). Red sat for a few minutes then went straight for the fresh water bowl and seemed to be bathing hims...

Re: Is he depressed??
There are so many different opinions on the bath thing. We gave baths just before putting them in the new tank to wash off the old stuff. That was the last time. I haven't seen evidence of him going through the water bowls in at least 3 days that was the only reason I was thinking of doing any kind ...

Is he depressed??
I have had my first crabs for a month. Bought them at the beach, then did research to realize we know nothing about taking care of them! So after reading All the recommendations, etc they now have a pretty sweet set up with good temp and humidity ranges. After 2 days in the new tank the smallest bur...

How to keep moisture around molter's tunnel?
My first molter dug in yesterday. I had just replaced their sand substrate with perfectly mixed sand and fiber - texture was sandcastle perfect! So, now how do I make sure the sand tunnel he's in doesn't collapse?
