Re: Poop happens!

Oh my gosh this just made my day. SOMEONE in my tank always drops one single crab turd on their food when I put it in there at night. I can never catch the culprit, but I'll put the food in, and look 10 minutes later, and there is a single poop sitting right on the top. Also, mine never have white o...

Re: giving up on names?

I have seven and I can tell each one apart by their coloring, eyes, shell, size and personality. Each crab acts a little different and if you really look at them you can definitely tell who is who. I have 2 small crabs, that look pretty much identical except for their personalities. One is super fri...

Re: Holding Crab by Shell

I believe they are trying to reach the ground or something firm. To me it looks like they are a little concerned about being suspended. It is a good sign however showing that they are at least not timid. Just let them sit in your hand. I do not believe they will allow themselves to fall.

Crab laying on back...

Has anyone else ever had their crabs specifically put themselves on their backs (so their heads and legs face towards the ceiling) and just lay there? I have a few that purposefully just roll over, and go limp and let themselves hang out of their shells on their backs for minutes at a time, and when...

Re: When should I worry?

Daughter reports today that part of his exo is coming off one leg. Time for ISO I guess. He does not dig so I hope to make him a moss pit with food and water and cover him with some type of cave. Any other suggestions?

I would be closing my door when I went to bed for fear of being eaten over night.

Re: When should I worry?

Caught the little bugger up and around this morning at 4:30. When I got up half an hour later he was right back in his normal spot giving the impression he never moved. Very nocturnal is he.

When should I worry? Update he is molting??

My rescue crab, Humphrey, spends all day every day in an elevated moss area. I have never seen him come down on his own in a week. He wakes up after dark and has been seen eating moss and occasionally some grape. But he never comes down for water unless he is doing it late at night without my knowin...
