A gardening crab! Maybe if you put in some shrubs he will make you a topiary!

Re: Interesting article on hermies
Fascinating. One would wonder why they're studying that stuff... but it's totally cool that they are! I want THAT job. What did you do today? Oh, I measured the excitation in the neurons of hermit crabs' antennae in various responses to different olfactory stimuli. You know.

Re: Crabs under moss
Make sure to use the real moss, not the fake stuff. They will eat it and get sick. The real stuff they can eat, yum yum! Mine love to munch on the moss. You can use a corner shower caddy (they come with suction cups) on the side of the tank and then make a climber so they have a 2nd level. Mine are ...

Re: How do you introduce a new crab?
You need to have more than one PP is what I've heard, because they all like to be in groups of their own kind. Also you need to ISO him until he's destressed and molted. Once he's adjusted to the proper environment and survived a molt, it should be fine to introduce him to your main tank. References...

Or maybe it's itchy. He's like "dang, did I leave the tag in there?"

Re: When are your crabs active?
NOON? That is so awesome! If I had just one crab who was up at noon... My husband thinks I put food and water into empty tanks with fake plants LOL Mine will get up as soon as I go to bed. I can turn all the lights out but if the TV is still on, they won't come out. I have to "pretend" I'm going to ...

Ecuadorians and the shells they love...
I've just rescued a few E's and they look like they're in shells that are way too small. Do they like smaller shells or is it just because they haven't had any other choice?

Re: where did all my crabs go?

Re: New Blueberry Crabs :)
I read on another site that any crab is a "new" crab until they've survived their first molt. Which I took to mean they should stay in ISO until they've molted - is this not correct?

Re: where did all my crabs go?
Your crabitat is GORGEOUS!!!
My guess is they're underground? Mine spend a lot of time underground, even when not molting. They must love all that digging space!!!
