This shell was hand painted for sure. The paint just wrapped around the lip of the shell. If you can't see the end of the paint, I would quess the she was dipped in paint. I might just toss that one to be safe. I am a new crabber though, so ask a pro.

Just depainted a shell. I used a nice sharp paring knife, boiling water, and clean kitchen sponge. Because of time spent in the kitchen dipping the shell in boiling water and quickly going back to work on it was not too hot for my hands. It was a very tedious process though. Not sure what the 50lbs of rock meant. I love my reef tank, 29 gal, and i spend about ten mins a day, and 45 mins every sunday on cleaning.
