Yesterday I mixed my JurassiDiet pellets, my HBH Crab Variety Bites, a drop of clover honey, and a spritz of olive oil. I stirred the mix together into a paste, and then added freeze-dried meal worms. The resulting concoction is not appetizing to me (to say the least), but I think the crabs will go...

Thanks, Cass! I have learned so much on nutrition the last few months. I have just a small amount left of the variety bites and I don't plan on buying anymore. I think I have heard white rice is "ok", but it has really no nutritional value for them (it is basically crabby "junk food"). :/ I wouldn't feed it to them until someone can give you a sure answer, however.

I've noticed lately the crabs at Petsmart are in Magpies fairly often. I guess in the wild they don't have much of a choice, but so far the two I brought home have changed - one to a turbo, the other to a D-shaped opening that most of my E's usually wear. Two of the hermit crabs I got from Petsmart...

Oh. My. Goodness. He is the CUTEST little thing!!! <3 Please give him to me!!! ( ) Lol, yeah I can agree that he is one lucky little crab (and one ADORABLE little crab)! Although it was very unfortunate that he stowed away like that, he IS lucky that he found a good home with you.

This is a great guide! However, I have a hermie who is in a magpie shell (and another that was for a long time, until he finally changed out of it recently. It seems like he has some odd tastes for shells, though; he is really a PP but It seems like he thinks he is an E by the D shaped opening shell...
