Re: new pre-molt signs?
I honestly can't say. I have never noticed the change in leg colors. I usually notice that my crabs start digging and pigging out more before going down for molts.

Re: Hermit Crab Foods
These are the ingredients you will need to be on the look out for. If these are listed in ANY of the foods that you purchase DO NOT use them. ⁃ EQ or Ethoxyquin an antioxidant ⁃ Copper Sulfate ⁃ BHT, also known as butylhydroxytoluene I would STRONGLY recommend against using commercial foods. Your cr...

Re: air plants
While live plants look AMAZING... your crabs will destroy ANYTHING you put in there. There are some very realistic and cheap fake plants out there that you can use. I buy all my fake plants at the Dollar Tree. A dollar a piece can't be beat. When they get dirty you can rinse them let them dry and pu...

Re: Hygrotherm questions
A lot of crabbers have had success with this item. You can get it at Wal-mart for around $9. http://i1367.photobucket.com/albums/r800/HunterandOdiesMama/Acu-rite_zps3b3d2ead.jpg This one you can get on ebay or amazon, they cost roughly $20. http://i1367.photobucket.com/albums/r800/HunterandOdiesMama...

Re: Rustolem leak seal
I would strongly suggest AGAINST using this in your tat. I would use aquarium silicone or 100% silicone , both are safe. However, they do need to gas off before the tank is put back together and crabs are placed in the tat. If salt fish keepers wouldn't use it in their tanks, it is suggested that yo...

Re: ReptiFogger?
I personally don't use a fogger because I have heard horror stories of tanks flooding do to, TOO much moisture. I personally use bubblers to keep the humidity up in our tanks. At this point it seems to be working really well. I have heard that some have had troubles with bubblers creating too much h...

Re: Mice
Calla.. I just stumbled across this post! We recently acquired a chinchilla, four rats and three hamsters.
The chinchilla we have had for several months. However, the hamsters and rats were newly acquired.
They are indeed HILARIOUS to watch!
Hope all is working out with your little mice.

I have been following this thread since the beginning... and I hope you don't mind Calla... but I have read this thread to my husband because he is a snake guy. He said in his opinion feeding Sylvie 2 adult mice every 10 days is overfeeding. Like I said... that is his opinion. Have you gotten her to...
