The hardest shells to find are the slightly over 1 inch like 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 ones, anything up to 1 1/2 size. Many long time crabbers use that brand and also mix eco earth into it. The mix commonly used is 5 parts sand and 1 part eco earth. Thanks for the reply. I am definitely a worrier. I spent time working on the tank and didn't read anything on crab behavior. Seeing Edie go round and round made me feel so bad as they weren't really moving at all at Petco. It just hit me that he once had a large enviroment and now he only has 10 gal...
