Thanks JoeHermits for your response.
I need to add blue gill eggs to my question.
Where they were caught is clean water.
Has anyone else fed them fish they had caught?
Thanks

Bluegill meat, skin, and scales?
Didn't see on safe food list, but I was wondering if the meat, skin, and/or scales from bluegills is safe for my purple pinchers. I've had them 5 or 6 years now & they are still growing.
Thanks for any responses

1 large or 2 medium tanks
Not been on here in awhile. Hello everyone.
I know my crabs (PPs) need more room. Right now in a 40 gallon. I have a 75 gallon in the basement. My husband thinks it would be better to set up another 40 gallon and have 2 tanks.
What would you do?

Gonna have to try this. I see a stone on end of tube so that answered my next question.
Brutus and snowball are up right now..... so I know they still haven't changed shells.
Thanks Everyone

Re: One year in
Sounds like you've been doing everything right and the crabs have shown their appreciation by happily molting, changing shells, etc, so a BIG congrats to you and the crabbie clan :wav: . Re the humidity issue: do you have bubblers in the pools? Adding them really boosts the humidity and the crabs c...

One year in
Not really sure where to post an update :anon: , but this was my best bet. It was last year about this we got our hermies. Got 15pp (way too many) from a beach shop at Myrtle Beach. By reading the info here and other places I expected about a third of my guys to pass from PPS, but I don't think I've...

Re: 11 crabs up for adoption...possible?
Tough decision. I've got too many in my tank (18 small/small-medium PPs in a 40 gallon) and know I'll have to get another tank or bigger tank or probably both. When I got mine I expected some to pass from PPS (got them from store @ Myrtle Beach). Have been surprised that I don't believe any have die...

They are soooo cute. Don't know what the one bright orange leg means, but one of my hermies has one also. I'm sure someone will come on and tell us what it means (I'm assuming normal variation).

Re: How many use grapevine
Live in southern West Virginia and it is everywhere. We own about 55 acres of land that is out in the middle of nowhere. My husband hunts out there. All kinds of grapevine. We try to get the stuff that is not currently growing. No chance of anyone using chemicals out there. I really try hard to be v...

How many use grapevine
I have a lot of grapevine in my tank. It's kinda like a highway system for getting around the tank. Always interesting when two meet and have to decide how to pass one another. My crabs eat on it also. Just wondering how many people use grapevine in their tanks and it your hermies eat it? :hello2:

Really wish we had a place to buy organic. Maybe I'm just missing it.
