Re: New 20 gallon & new friend for Hermie
Today's projects:
1. Try to see if my adoptee is a boy or girl! The previous owners had no idea how to tell males & females apart.
2. Install a corner shower caddy w/tons of shells.

New 20 gallon & new friend for Hermie
My new little crabbie has the same dinner time as us! She/he was out eating & drinking at 6pm last night. I was afraid that the regular water & food dishes might be too far away or too big for him/her, so I put out tiny bowls of fresh & salt water and some food close to the fake coconut hut where he...

New 20 gallon & new friend for Hermie
So I finally made the transition from a 10 to a 20 gallon tank. We've had Hermie (PP) since August 2013--1 year & 5 months. This is one of the earliest pics of him with a buddy. Hermie is the big guy in the babylone shell. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/28/c7f1f2ecfc6db40045895d711ca1960e.j...

Re: Setting up a corner tank
I think 4 will be ok [emoji2] just make sure you have plenty of hiding and climbing space. I think if you have stuff stick into the sub, like sticks and rods, you increase desireable digging places because crabs like to dig by structures like trees and walls. I like to give my Es lots of things to ...

Your old and new tanks look amazing! I love your creative use of dollar store totes for the water and the coated wire rack for a second level. Thanks so much for posting pics....I get so many great ideas! [emoji3]

Cute crabbabies! I like your saltwater pool with the pebbles. I'm curious about the white plastic basket that is upside-down on the sub. Is the basket supporting anything? Do you have one or two of the sides cut out? I just love seeing how folks make creative use of items in their tats.

Re: Should I dig to check on "Killer Croc"?
Lburns--I hope all is well with Killer Croc. I made lots of mistakes in the beginning, but it's very difficult because of all the misinformation given by pet stores & the makers of lots of hermit crab products. I just keep reading, researching & fixing things when I learn they are wrong. :-) Sent fr...

Re: Should I dig to check on "Killer Croc"?
singlemomwithcrab--I like your method of preparing substrate. I'm about to mix the sub for my 20 gallon tank, so this is very helpful.

Re: update on the connect
Great idea to connect the two! Hilarious how they waited to get into the one you were cleaning! The grass is always greener on the other side.
