Re: Where to find moss?
Lol, thought you were talking about LIVE moss. For good moss pit type moss, New Zealand AAA sphagnum moss is the best. Both sites listed above have it. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Where to find moss?
Hermit crabs tank are going to need tropical moss. Unless you live in the very south, with high humidity, most mosses taken from the yard will require a winter period, requiring it to be placed in the fridge for about 6 weeks. Also, when you take from the yard, there can be tons of bacteria, bugs, a...

With a tank that size, an automated misting system, particularly a MistKing would be most appropriate. Foggers do help, but like you said, multiple would have to be purchased, and the misting system just really works better.

Growing plants is pretty dependent on the type of light you use. To grow plants, the light must be in the 5700 to 6500 Kelvin range. The majority of people buy plants, not knowing this, place them in the tank, and they slowly die off.

I would immediately call an exotic vet if I were you. I've never seen anything like this, and the things you are describing don't bode well. Keep him isolated and hope for the best ![luck :luck::](./images/smilies/luck.gif)

Re: Loveable Exotics (coming soon)
For the uvb, I actually bought a fluorescent light fixture at home depot a couple months ago (for a different purpose). Using command strips, I have not only mounted the light sideways on glass, but also upside down. Mine that I bought is too short, but I hope to eventually buy a longer one that can...

Re: does anyone get tired of the feeding?
I'm like Callalilly. I'll leave my food out for one or two nights. In the wild, crabs will eat slightly molded food (I won't let it get that bad), and leaving it out won't hurt anyone/thing. I change my mealworm/cuttlebone dish about twice a week. The feeding can be annoying sometimes, but it only t...

Many frog hobbyists mix titebond III wood glue with coco fiber, moss, and sometimes acrylic paint into a slurry. It works great, and is very safe ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Acrylic Paint Question
I agree with Muse on the silicon covering. As for the toxicity, many, many frog hobbyists use acrylic paint for backgrounds and other things they put in their enclosures. Frogs are extremely sensitive animals, known as the "canaries" of an environment. They also absorb water through their skin, and ...

I'm in the process of building my dream 90G right now, and I actually used an acrylic divider 10" tall. On the left I have a 1:5 ratio of eco to sand, and the other side I have just straight sand. It bought allows the crabs to choose which they prefer, and creates a very aesthetically pleasing look ...

Also, some opinions on this project: I really like Aussie's idea. I was thinking having the isos with full substrate, perfect for molting. The main tank could be like pet store conditions, in which the sub was only 1 to 2 inches. Any crabs in less than fair conditions would be instantly placed in th...

Polycarbonate is awesome for lids. I don't have any experience with it myself, but I have heard many experienced hobbyists refer to its sustainability. It's called Lexan at Home Depot and Lowe's. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
