Re: Alan's Hermit Crabs At Home

Very interesting. Personally, I like it a lot. A couple of members have actually gotten tanks, knocked the glass out at the bottom, and stuck them on top of another tank. I know Kuza has one, and I remember seeing one post of a 100 gallon tank with a custom added topper to it. Your iso tank is very ...

Re: 500 gallon Crabitat

I'm not sure on that specific question, but here's an awesome thread if you haven't seen it on custom huge wooden tanks:

Re: Adding a full brick of EE?

You actually don't need a 50/50 mix, it can be as low as a 5:1 coco fiber to sand mixture, as long as humidity is kept high. I've added a whole inch of substrate over molters before, and they've all come out healthy. You just have to make sure that you are as delicate as possible. Just make sure tha...

90 Gallon Build Thread

So, for my birthday, I really begged my parents for a larger tank, so as to upgrade my 9 crabs from their 40B. I was only looking for a 75 gallon, but lo and behold, while searching on craigslist, I found a phenomenal deal of a 90 gallon tank, stand, lights, and glass top for $275. I got it for $225...

Re: Which fogger/mister to get?

If you're willing to spend a few extra bucks, Mistking.com is the place to go. If that's out of the price range, I personally believe the monsoon system to be the best deal. Foggers are great, and do help with humidity, as well as creating a cool effect, but honestly, a misting system will keep up h...

Re: 130 Gallon Stand

Very nice. 6 PPs in a 130?! I hope you get 'em some buddies :). I just picked up a 90 gallon with stand, lights, and glass lid today for $225. I'm hoping to move my 9 PPs into it in the next few weeks, once I get it all set up.

Anyone ever used avocado before? I feel like it would be beneficial, especially the nut on the inside.

Re: If I won the lottery..

First, at least 30 percent would go to charity. Then, I would buy a dream house on the beach. I would create a huge reptile room in my house with a ginormous crabitat and every species of crab. I would invest a lot of it in the bank for interest. I would also give like $20k to each of...

I think this is really cool what you are doing, and believe that it could be very beneficial. Are we going to get to see the results, because I would be very interested in knowing what you find. :)

Re: NAKED crab? (Out of Shell)

1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? eco earth/sand mixture: six inches 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read? Yes, they are located in the back, right ...
