Re: Heating
I have a 20 L as well and I have to use a large, medium and small UTH. Plus the entire tank except the front and one end is wrapped in foil. The back even has foam insulation. I barely hit 80 with all that. I'm out of ideas myself ;) Crabbing for 2 years-still obsessed! 6 total crustacean kids. Gave...

Let me add this is a second level which is higher up I had the lid off temporarily to take the pic. They have 3 levels including the substrate. Just wanted to clarify that. Lol

Shell shopping
Just wanted to share a picture of a few of my crustacean kids checking out the shell shop. They are so funny to watch. Harry is notorious for switching shells constantly and will try to keep several of his favorite shells near him so no one else can take them. I almost lost Harry several months ago ...

Re: My crab turned from purple to pink
Wow he looks great! He is gorgeous! You've done very well throughout this ordeal. You both made it through!! How's the sunburn? You must not be up north? Here in Western New York there's no opportunity for sunburns- only windburn. Lol. New mom to 2 PP's- Paul (1 molt) & Juan (1 molt) and 3E's- Harry...

At the moment it's all EE. I had a flooding issue a couple months ago. You all have really good advice. My UTH are on the whole back and one side. The lid is covered with aluminum. I will try a blanket. Thank you! New mom to 2 PP's- Paul (1 molt) & Juan (1 molt) and 3E's- Harry, Sarge(currently molt...

Re: Conditions at Petco
Do you know if a person buys a hermit crab from them and for whatever reason they return it, they can't resell them and chances are they end up in the dumpster. My heart breaks thinking about this. If I could stay there to scoop them up and protect them I would. I couldn't work there I would be fire...

Re: Heat heat heat!!!
It does bring the temp up but even with a huge moss pit and a bubble pool (I forgot to add these to my original post) all the humidity is gone- like desert heat. It's a game I've been playing for almost 2 years. I had it down perfect with my 20 gal but since I upgraded its been a nightmare. Doesn't ...

Heat heat heat!!!
Hi guys. I'm having a little trouble keeping my temps up. I have a 40 gal long with 2 XL heat pads on the back above substrate level plus a small one on the side. I'm also using tin foil all around and on top as well as foam insulation. I'm just below 80. I bought a nighttime heat bulb. It's a 75 wa...

Re: General crabitat help needed
I had to do my first deep clean In 1.5 years a couple months ago because I discovered flooding but when I started bringing up the old substrate the smell knocked me over. I had been missing a crab but had no death smell until I started rolling the EE and it was rank!!! Have no idea where the floodin...
