Just a side note, this guy was a rescue from a souvenir shop so he was not in the best health to begin with. This could be another variable to help identify the problem.

Stuck In Shell?
Hi guys, One of my larger PP's who is fairly new came up from a molt about a week and a half ago. I noticed that he had dropped his BP, but other than that he was extremely healthy and active. There were no other crabs up in the tank at that time, so I let him be but watched him closely. He is eatin...

Best cheap automatic mister?
Hi all, I am having a really hard time keeping the humidity up in my 40 gallon tank. I use a glass lid and an LED aquarium hood light to light the tank as well as 3 20 gal UTHs on the sides for heat. What is the most effective, cheapest automatic mister you guys have found? Because of school, I'm un...
Lemon?
Is lemon/lemon peel safe for crabs? It's not on either of the food lists. I've got lots of extra lemon bits because my dad made homemade limoncello. Thanks!

Re: Aussies and E's together?
Soilentringa- Thanks for the heads-up. I knew about the delays before, but never realized that people were actually not receiving their crabs. I experienced the delays myself, but luckily I emailed them and they got back to me pretty quickly, claiming my order had been lost. Once they got my email t...

Aussies and E's together?
Hey guys! So my E tank is doing very well but I've only got two really little guys in the 29 gallon at the moment. I've considered getting one or two more E's, but I saw today that LHC has aussies. I know that their care sheets say that they're pretty similar. Has anyone successfully kept them toget...

Re: Minor Streaker Incident
Will do. He picked a new shell, so I'm wondering if there was actually something wrong with the old one. And yes, I agree it could be PPS related.

Re: Flies in the Crabitat
Thanks guys. And callalily- I did a water change today and made the water much shallower and added several more rocks to the bottom of the bowls. Originally, I had a reptile hammock hanging in the water for the crabs to use to climb out, but it had fallen down and my mother had not replaced it. Sent...

Minor Streaker Incident
1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? Playsand and EE mix, EE is made with de chlorinated fresh water. Only have about 5 in in the tank at the moment, but will be adding more in the next few days. 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If ...

Minor Streaker Incident
I woke up this morning to one of my tiny PPs naked in the fresh water dish, perched on a rock. He was totally alert, his little antennas waving when I opened the tank. I carefully tried to pick him up to rinse him off in a bath and get him into his shell when he started to climb up my arm! I picked ...

Flies in the Crabitat
Hey guys, kind of a sad day for my crabbing yesterday. I got home from a five week exchange to Germany and left the crabs in the care of my mom because I live at home. I left a full set of instructions, as well as what to do in emergency, and how to log into this forum. Honestly, I wasn't worried be...

Souvenir Store Rescue
Hi everybody- I'm taking my yearly vacation in Gulf Shores, Alabama and since I had room in my new 40 gal I decided to rescue a few crabs from one of the many many souvenir stores. I ended up getting five crabs (much more than I originally planned on getting). Incredibly, all five crabs are mite-fre...

Fresh Thyme Finds
Hi all, A new grocery store opened up near my house this month called Fresh Thyme. I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with it but it's basically an all-natural, 'healthy' grocery store. I decided to stop in today and found all kinds of stuff for the crabbies. I didn't have much money with me ...

Re: Streaking Crab Please Help
Ok, I will definitely try that! I actually have a protein mix coming from Hermit Crab Patch tomorrow! Hopefully that will help. Thanks for the advice!
