Re: Conditions at Petco
It is really sad that they do that. If it were in the wild, the crabs would be preyed on because of their shell, and if I was a crab, it would be embarrassing to me. These hermit crabs die because of our opinions on "what color" they should have for a shell and it costs them their lives! They are co...

Conditions at Petco
I went to Petco to buy my hermies a few cuttlebones. Well, I looked at the tank (a 20 gal.) and there were about 25 of them crammed in there! There was a dead one. Well, I wasn't happy, but I didn't do much about it. So, while I was over there, a guy comes, and gets this large crab with an employee....

Re: So confused about food!!
I only feed them about 4 things every 2-3 days. Egg shells, assorted dried fruits, fish flakes, and dried coconut. Sometimes I feed them banana, grapes, or strawberries. You don't need to feed them much, but an occasional treat helps a lot!

Jelly! Your hermit crabs are great! I love your tank and can't wait for an update on your other two. I especially love your plants and hiding spots. Awesome tank!

Re: What's on today's menu & recipe sharing
I just put a Q-tip in one of the holes of their cholla wood, so now the part with food on it is hanging over the food bowl. It is peanut butter dipped in coconut oil with honey drizzled on it. It should be a nice meal for them. And in the food bowl, there are coconut shavings. Going to give them lef...

Re: Through the Eyes of a Hermit Crab
It gets confusing figuring out who is following who's story. At first, I thought we were going to follow one hermit crab. I think we should follow one crab too, just for not getting confused. And we could also have different stories but go @"name" to continue someone's story. I don't really care wha...

Re: Pictures of my crabitats and my land hermit crabs
How big are the babies now? They are adorable! And I love your white blueberry crab.
Also, I need to try a tunnel between tanks. That is amazing.

There was a deep substrate made of coconut fiber, and all of the other hermit crabs spoke our language. They were all nice, except one...

Re: How much would you pay?
I would pay a lot of money.
How much would you pay for a shell that would be weightless, and look small, but when the crab hid inside it, the shell would automatically close and the hermit crab could have a house in there, and the hermit crab would never have to change out of it?
You can't beat that.
