Re: What's wrong with shipping crabs?
Most people have no idea HOW to ship live animals. Reptiles are shipped all the time, and many of them can die from stress just as easy and even faster than crabs. (Chameleons and wild caught baby snakes come to mind first.) If you ever need to ship crabs, follow this site completely, don't be cheap...

Inventory time!
I THINK I got picture of everyone's that's up minus 2, One is an E that has and will vacate his shell if picked up, and the other I didn't see until I put everyone back and he was super pissed off, tried to pinch me before I even picked him up. https://68.media.tumblr.com/717ded215d0abcae04af7e308d3...

Re: Moving 75 gal, need help throwing ideas around
@MooneyFamily, kieagcarm and LadyJinglyJones; Thank you! The tank has pretty thick plant cover so you don't see them much when they're out, so I went with high contrast shiny shells so that they pop when you see them! Best part about hermit crabs is that you get to pick their outfits out without hav...

Re: Moving 75 gal, need help throwing ideas around
Hi fellow Central Floridian! Recently I adopted a set up and hermits from a fellow crabber from here. He put all of his hermits in a aquarium mainly filled with sub inside of a tote. There was only one that was buried at the time of transfer. That one he put in a tupperware container with sub. We a...

Re: Moving 75 gal, need help throwing ideas around
Following because I have a similar situation coming up in a few months ! The idea of a tote tat is a great idea! For our molters, I was planning on putting them in Tupperware containers (with holes of course) and as soon as our main tank is set up, putting the Tupperware containers in the main tank...

Moving 75 gal, need help throwing ideas around
Hi! I'm getting ready to move, which means I need to move the 75 gal. It has 13 inches of sub at the lowest and i think 15 inches at the highest. I don't know how many crabs, there are 8 up right now. It's heavily planted, I don't handle them, I can't tell them apart and the most recent additions we...

Re: Pinkies were a hit!
I NEVER thought about that! Unfortunately mister old man huffy-face has no desire to give up any food (knock on wood!) I'm pretty sure a Medium Rat would be wayyyy to much meat for the crabs. anyway. I wish there was a way to buy them that wouldn't be $50, it's mostly the shipping that's killer.

I can't believe this, crab down for over a year!
So I got a jumbo at a pet store in July of 2014. In January of 2015 he came up, and I posted a thread on it. Well in June, he went down. Haven't see him since I assumed he died. I got home this morning from pt and he's UP! I'm honestly so confused, he's been down for 8 months. And He couldn't have E...

Re: Anyone know safety of these unlisted plants?
I do not know off-hand, and I want to know what you learn. I would add that you could ask the folks at NE Herp about known toxicity to herp species in order to have a better sense of what to avoid. While planted vivs are often popular for dart frogs (who don't eat crickets or plants), some people h...

Re: LiveHermitCrabs.com
Do NOT buy from reptile city. With LHC someone at least sees that crabs beforehand, Reptile city is mostly likely a dropshipper so you'll get whatever the collector wants to throw in your box. Plus no one that has that many species for sale is going to be anything but an animal mill or he's getting ...
