Re: Questions about building my first big crabitat
rust for anything i'd say is not good just in general, but sometimes its just an eye sore, far as i'm aware, it seems to be up in the air on the rust thing. I'm sure someone will chime in. I went so out of my way to use anything metal, and then slowly have introduced some things in, don't get me wro...

Re: Evolution of a Crabitat
Very cool, your false bottom tank etc, all looks identical to mine!! sweettttt.. I've got some suction cup hooks i bought from the dollar store, like 2 for a buck, they are amazing! they're the 3rd different setup of suction cup hook things i've gone through/tested and the best by far (in regards to ...

Re: pool question
marbles seem to work the best for me as they are all the same size, so the water still sits level in the top container. still have to apply a little pressure to the bottom container so it doesn't try to come up with the little amount of suction that there is created. http://gmccloud.com/container1.j...

Re: Desert Crabby Mixes N More
I'll have to check them out when they're back up. I defeinetely need to add more ready made mixes with tons of stuff that i'm too lazy to put together.
Re: Heat help
Figured i'd throw in my recent interaction with adding a UTH to the back of my tank. I was ranging anywhere from 76-85, now with the 47x11 on the back, it ranges from 83-88 on the substrate and up to -95 on the 2nd level under the lights. All in all it seems to be working great, the extra heat has m...

Re: How much will a UTH raise temperature?
so i finally attached my ultratherm, 47x11 on yesterday. i just slapped it on the back and used some packing tape to hold it on, it's not 100% flat by any means, and maybe like the bottom 2 inches are covered by a piece of cardboard i had covering the substrate. The temperature would peak out at 82 ...

Re: Random Night Pix of the Crabs!
I don't know honestly how many are in there. I never really kept track. I think there are 6-7 straws, 3 e's (rescued one last week from sure death) , couple large pp's and a handful of micros. haven't had any issues really or anything, with tons of places to climb and hide, and the water, they all s...

Re: Suction cups figured out
NICE! i usually have to re-adjust/re-attach my suctions cups about once a week or so. the crabs either get crabnails behind the suction and slowly rip it off. since they all have needlefingers!@!@!! and sometimes the ones above the pools will start to slip some with all the humidity, in fact one sli...

Re: Should i buy these?
after a brief encounter with dollar store coco fiber pots, i don't think i'd use em unless they said they're for pets, it didn't smell super bad, but it did smell a little different then my coco fiber wall i have, that i haven't used. Even if its not in the dollar store, they may have put chemicals ...
