Re: Safe moss for crabs?

PETsMART has ExoTerra forest moss in a brick. We incorporated it into all 5 tats and for 8 bucks you get a ton of it after it soaks in saltwater and expands. I would suggest airing it out for a couple or three days after expansion. Unless you enjoy the woodsy jungle smell. It's an acquired scent.

Re: Mixes or single ingredients?

The bullet rocks for dry mixes! Omega One products only.
I use dried shrimp, krill, bloodworms, color enhancing flakes and cuttlebone for a protein/ calci sprinkle or side offering. All my species scoop it up by the claw full. It is basically a Mega-protein alternative.

Re: Why sand

Oolite sand is what I have been using in the 40 for a few months now and it seems to make them all levels of happy. The play sand experience was a fluke for us so it got canned and then we reverted to the Oolite. It mixed with the coco-fiber rather well after a few all night rampages of my jumbo all...

Re: LiveHermitCrabs.com

Seven months...seven friggin months we waited for straws. The Aussie trio came in Wed instead of the straws but it was better than nothing. One heck of a wait. I understand things happen yet communication is the main factor when people wait and wait and wait and wait. I am seeking another contact so...

Re: strawberries NOT digging

We have been lucky enough to start our crab family without having to use shipping methods,so this was my first. I was actually pretty disappointed with the shipping. Ive seen un boxing videos and none was how I received mine. Only thing on outside of box was fragile,so course the corners were crushe...

strawberries NOT digging

I recently acquired 2 beautiful strawberries who are in ISO right now but in the four days now that i have had them they have not dug anywhere. I see no holes, tunnels,or disrupted substrate. They are active but chill time is huddled together in corner. I have 3 other species and all different sizes ...
