Re: Humidity gradient to extreme?
Oh, something that "sticks out" and worth investigating! When you mean: Do you mean that the lid is foil and doesn't cover the entire top? If so, probably all the humidity is escaping through there -the gap. I calibrated it and it seems to be working fine. The top to my tank is one of those lids yo...

Re: Humidity gradient to extreme?
What do you use for heating, a heat bulb? If so, it probably drying out the tank leading to drastic humidity range in your tank. Otherwise, have you calibrated the gauge? After a while, it is common for a gauge to "loose" it effectiveness while reading. No heat bulb just two UTH. I'm going to calib...

Humidity gradient to extreme?
Hello, I recently upgraded from a 20 gallon long to a 55 gallon! Well Ive noticed in my 55 gallon at the surface of the substrate the humidity hangs at a steady 80% or higher. If I move my hygrometer maybe six inches off ground on platform it can drop to about 60%. I'm just not sure why it would be ...

Dry substrate
Hello, So a while back I posted on here about how I forgot to add water to my 5:1 eco/sand substrate. I took out all my crabs and kept adding water until sandcastle like. Time has passed ive actually had a crab molting for going on two months now. Tuesday I took a straw and pushed through the sand a...

Re: Airstone question
Ok so the first thing is: You will need new water treatment. Use a dechlorinator such as seachem, 2-4 drops to a gallon, for FW and SW. This isnt necessarily causing your issue, but it is important to crab health that you have properly treated water. Then you should also switch to a real seasalt SW...

Re: Airstone question
Sorry, but i have to ask, about your water: Dechlorinator being used, name? Salt being used? Are both bubblers stopping at the same time? Are you dechlorinating your saltwater? How often do you change your water? How dirty do your pools get, can you describe or show your pools and describe the amou...

Re: Airstone question
I've used the same airstones continuously 24/7 for 4-5 months now and dont seem to have any issues or need for replacement. What is happening to yours? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I'm not sure they start out strong and all of a sudden there just done. The air flow coming through hose is fine...

Airstone question
Hey guys!
I've been using airstones in my pools for a while. The problem is sometimes they will last a while sometimes a couple days. I've used two different brands. Is this common? At the most they may last a couple weeks

Sandcastle consistency
Hello, My top layer of substrate never seems to stay sandcastle like but the lower part does. I try to spray it moderately each day.Should I just keep spraying until it is like the rest? Or it is normal for top layer to not be as moist? I just worry about spraying to much sometimes. I use a heat lam...

I have a medium size purple pincher and lately he's became very sluggish and kind of moves the sand around but never buries. Tonight he dug to the bottom of the moss pit. He has 3-3.5 inches of loose moss covering him. He never usually buries completely so I'm concerned he's molting. If he is what s...

Re: This shell safe?
It's kind of like that. Some of the spikes come off shell by an inch. I think it's meant more decorative than anything. Once again sorry no picwodesorel wrote:One of these? http://www.gastropods.com/7/Shell_127.shtml
