Re: Flooding! Please, Need Help!
Thankfully I got this all done last night. I worked on it until about 1:30 in the morning. Unfortunately, my 3 that were still down didn't make it :( One side was flooded and sloppy wet and the other side was fine. They were all on the flooded side and way down at the bottom, plus it was most likely...

Re: Flooding! Please, Need Help!
So, when I'm securing this all together with zip ties, I zip tie everything around the edges? The eggcrate, the fabric, and the plastic canvas all zip tied together?

Re: Flooding! Please, Need Help!
LOL Ok, thank you. Ugh, this is such a mess. I guess good thing though I read about flooding before I built my new tat without a false bottom, because no more upgrades after this one. I'm duct taping the tops of the pvc supports just in case.

Re: Flooding! Please, Need Help!
Is it essential to cut notches in the PVC supports? I can't find a way to do it. Grrr!...Could I maybe just put duct tape over the tops so the water doesn't go down into the pipes? Or would that cause flooding or something?

Re: Flooding! Please, Need Help!
Ok. I've gotten started. Luckily the flooding isn't bad, just waaay to saturated at the bottoms. I caught it quick! I got all my supplies. I got a long PVC pipe and was going to cut it down. My cuts aren't straight :( will that matter?? I'm going to try to still holes and see if that works. I don't ...

Flooding! Please, Need Help!
Been a crab owner since this past summer. I was browsing on here on ideas for my new tank, came across false bottoms and people talking about flooding so I decided to dig to the bottom of my tank and, of course, FLOODING!!! It is not absolutely terrible as in not even a 1/4", but there IS a sloppy s...

Re: Need ideas/help for more humidity using a ceramic heat l
Sometimes getting a plexi glass lid can help. If there is a glass shop in your area it shouldn't be too expensive and they will cut to size. You can have them cut a hole for the heat lamp and a couple small holes for fresh air. ..any humidity you're generating now is probably going straight out.

Re: Waiting is killing me!
Dang will probably have to wait until spring or summer then. I've spent so much on heaters and other stuff for the tat. Can't do it all again!

Waiting is killing me!
I got a great deal on a 50 gallon with wood stand that matches my wood floors. REALLY wanting to get my crabs out of the 40 on a black stand. It seems only 2 or 3 want to come out at a time! The others I assume are molting because some have been down for a month to a couple weeks. I did a quick set ...

Re: What are your crabs up to?
I have a PP who loves to hang on the vines in the tank and sleeps there during the day. And then an E who loves to scratch at the front glass of the tank, walking from right to left and vice versa and doing this ALL. NIGHT. I haven't quite figured out if the thinks he will find a way out or what. Bu...

Re: the heat in my tank is dropping
I had the same problem with temps outside dropping... First, I had some Styrofoam from one of those cheap Styrofoam coolers. I used the lid, which actually fit perfectly over my UTH. Wrapped a piece of cardboard in foil and fit it onto the heater side of the Styrofoam and taped it all on with duct t...
