Re: Moving Hermit Crabs
Thank you all for your suggestions, a family member is going to be driving the moving truck and the rest of us are going to be following close behind him. If I can I'll try to keep the whole tank with me, but seeing as there's 5 of us I'm not sure if I'll be able to do that. I will get a hold of the...

Re: Moving Hermit Crabs
I have heat pretty much sorted out but what I'm wondering is, would it better to have the tank closer on hand like in the car with me or would be it fine if I were to put everything in the moving truck.

Moving Hermit Crabs
I'm going to be moving from Colorado to Minnesota at the end of the month. Is there anything special I should do when it comes to moving the crabs and the tank?

Winter Heating
I live in colorado and were moving into cold weather. Any suggestions for heating a crabitat in a cold room? I have a UTH on the back of the tank but it's not really enough, the coldest area in the tank is around 73 when the heat lamp is on.

Re: insects that coexist with Hermit Crabs
Hm.. I might take them out then. Only one of them were really small, the other 2 seem too big to fit in any of the shells. I'm not too worried about reproducing, I don't think there are any female crickets in there.

insects that coexist with Hermit Crabs
Along with making my crabitat more tropical I was wondering if there are any insects that can live with hermit crabs. I want to make the crabitat a little more lively.

Re: Tropical Crabitat
I like it! I have lots of EE as substrate, For climbing stuff I have large pieces of driftwood and a nice lava rock with a hole in the middle. I think it would be cool to have live plants in there, what kind would you recommend? Moss and grey rocks sounds great! Is there place I can buy moss seeds o...

Tropical Crabitat
So I've been looking at my crabitat a lot and decided that it's pretty boring. Does anyone have any suggestions to make it look more like a Tropical Jungle?

I didn't put any honey in the food dish but there's lots of protein and calcium in there

Re: New hermit crab with only one leg!
So.. It's been a while since I last posted on this. And guess what? He's alive and well! He dug his way up tonight and all his limbs are back, granted they are really small for the time being but he's looking good!

I've also noticed that they really like to eat the drift wood that I have in there for them to climb on.

Sitting/sleeping upright
So I sometimes notice that my hermit crab will sleep with their shells standing up. Does this mean anything or is it normal?
