i agree, i've had a handful of bettas throughout the years and the only reason they don't swim around a lot is because they don't have the room to, or they're sick. :( a happy, healthy betta with lots of room will swim around the entire tank all day. plus, it probably really stresses the poor thing ...

i don't have any solutions to the humidity, but i thought i should point out that your hermies need two bowls of water, one fresh and one salt; not a bowl mixed with both.

i've been thinking about it a lot because i love my crab babies but if i leave them in someone else's care and pick them up later, its still a 12 hour drive and i dont want to stress them out that much. its not necessary on them and i would hate for them to die while in transit or when i get back to...

alright, so basically i'm getting forced out of my house and i have to move 800 miles away. this isnt what im worried about, its the crabs. i'm not entirely sure i can take them with because i have other animals and two people's stuff to take with me. i dont want to rehome them, i just want to find ...

the other day my crabs got some spinach spaghetti, cilantro, a hard boiled egg (the whites only because i was lazy) and its shell, some apple, some other veggie but i cant remember what -__-
they love the egg and now theres bits of shell all over the tank, hahaha

hey, sorry for the late reply. yeah, the guy said it was thinner glass so i didnt end up getting it :/ bummer. maybe one day i'll get a massive tank for my crabs. till then, i'll be dreaming of all the possibilities i could do with one that big, haha

basically, i found a 100-ish gallon tank for free online and the person giving it away says its a reptile only tank. i imagine 100 pounds of wet sand wouldn't work. has anyone used reptile only tanks with success before?
(also i'm a new member, apologies if this is in the wrong place ^^ )
