Re: not moving but alive
I will be looking into a heater and gauges. i really cant tell if he is still alive. He is unresponsive and hasn't moved in days. His antennae don't move and when i moved him to the iso tank he didn't try to retract into his shell or move. He is completely limp. But he has not fallen out of his shel...

Re: not moving but alive
Yes it is sand castle consistency, believe me they love building sand castles
I will look into gauges. Any ideas on upping the temperature? I'm a little nervous to put a heating pad on a plastic bin

Would a humidity gauge stick to a Rubber Maid container? i used to have one but it stopped working, any suggestions on brands? Yes my conditioner removes heavy metals and neutralizes chlorine and chloramine...

1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? play sand, 6 inches 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read? no I do not have gauges, I spray the tank daily 3. Is a ...

How to heat plastic tub
I have recently switched my hermit crabs to one of those RubberMaid plastic tubs. I bought a new heater since my old one is getting worn out and doesn't stick anymore. But the new heater says not to use on plastic. I'm not sure how to keep my tank warm. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bonnie

Bonnie

New Tank

The one I have now is nice but the only place I have to put it in a shelf so it's pretty dark in there and I want them to be out in the light. I was t...

Re: streaking
Thank you. He is in a shell now, do you still think is chances are low? He seems fine other than refusing to find a temporary shell. He eats fine, is very active and overall appears to be normal.

Re: streaking
He is probably a small medium. He has about four shells close to his size but he continually chooses a shell that is too big for him. I'll try cleaning them, maybe the sand bothers home or something.

Re: UK Hermit Crab Owner!! Where is everyone from??!
Hi there! My name is Bonnie. I have had hermit crabs for a couple years now. I live in the US. Glad to see you have decided to take in some hermit crabs!! They are so amazing.
