Re: 2 rescued Leopard Geckos - update 12/2 - & their Baby!!!
I had read elsewhere that they could be kept in a 4-walls glass screen top with proper ventilation, and they had all been planning on glass tanks. This is why I'm doing research, lol. Thankfully they're both wanting to go with the final sized enclose they'll need so upgrades aren't something to real...

Re: 2 rescued Leopard Geckos - update 12/2 - & their Baby!!!
I think one of them kept talking about LLL because a friend bought their gecko from it and recommended it and I was like 'UM'. This is the same person who wants a screen tank and just, hon you have never kept anything more than a dog do not do not do not. I'm really hoping they're not planning on ha...

Re: 2 rescued Leopard Geckos - update 12/2 - & their Baby!!!
I like to take her outside with me for short periods of time when its nice out for her to get some natural sunlight. Indeed! It does seem like they can go without it, but I don't think there's much harm to be had in providing them with something they'd encounter and utilize in their natural habitat ...

Re: 2 rescued Leopard Geckos - update 12/2 - & their Baby!!!
That's great hhh. What a little stinker, aha. Do you have any good resources for Chameleons? I have two(!) people I know getting a Chameleon each and I've volunteered to partner w/them to help them learn about husbandry and such (read as-trying to get in on the ground level and hopefully prevent dea...

Re: 2 rescued Leopard Geckos - update 12/2 - & their Baby!!!
I just read all the way through this post and I'm amazed at their transformations! I cannot believe their original owners kept them like that, goodness. Belle looks so much better and both of them are such beauts, I love Butler's coloration. Have you considered tong feeding? You mentioned how long i...

Re: Goldfish Tank Upgrade (soon) and Tank Talk
3x their current tank size and 750x their first tank, I think so too! It's such a weird number though, and it doesn't have much of any maker identification except for that anchor logo that's on everything and 'Made by J. Cera' or something like that in what appears to be comic sans. Yes, it's ...

Re: Eggshell/Food Questions et General Foodstuffs
Thanks for the info! I'm probably going to mix the two up occasionally, but grinding them makes them more convenient and less likely to be too icky, esp. for the permanent bowl. Def a good thing for me to rinse in filtered stuff-I'm on Atlanta-area water and we human's don't even drink the stuff. I'...

Re: Hi I'm new here ! Much needed advices..
That's probably what I was referring to! I didn't check the measurements available before I posted, and I believe those are the largest that'll fit on a 10gal. Just be sure when you get your temp/humidity gauge you won't need a light dimmer or if you do to get one-it works by restricting the flow of...

Re: Humidity
My experience with 10gallon tanks and heat lamps is that they really knock out the humidity. I have similar questions as rainbow, what's your sub and how wet/dry is it? I use a 4:1 ratio of sterilized (baked) paysand and ecoearth that's at sandcastle consistency, you sub should be moist enough so th...

Re: Hi I'm new here ! Much needed advices..
Your tanks looks really nice! :D I love your shell shop/moss pit combo hangout. I might need to figure out how to make a hemp net from all the macrame stuff I have hanging around...heh. Did you make sure to clean it? Hemp can be pretty dirty and they might try to munch on it some, so perhaps boiling...

Goldfish Tank Upgrade (soon) and Tank Talk
Pfft so I'm really excited about my fish's tank upgrade probably happening the week after next so I'm going to tell you all about it. I have a pair of Walmart comets I've kept for several years and hope to have them for many more yet, but I only recently really understood how much is needed with tan...

Eggshell/Food Questions et General Foodstuffs
Heya! As the title indicates, I've been having some wonderings about food. I'm working on getting a mortar and pestle (I broke our last one) but am already saving up eggshells and I was wondering a bit about how to go about it. Currently I'm rinsing/cleaning them in municipal water for convenience t...

Re: Renovations, Need to Move and Need Imput
My living room and dining room are basically one giant space and I've painted both more than once with the crab tank in the living room, sometimes in winter. I sealed it up in plastic before I started painting, and then opened it up the next morning after the fumes had dissipated. My issue is that ...

Re: Renovations, Need to Move and Need Imput
Oh, sorry if there was a misunderstanding? Neither of them are under, they do dig around some but currently neither are destressing or molting. We could remove sub to move them, but I think that would only really be necessary to put them in the other bedroom. The bathroom backs right up to my bedroo...

Renovations, Need to Move and Need Imput
Hello! I am in a bit of a pinch (no pun), since the questions I asked on the 'New Crabbers [etc.]" forum were not getting attention in a timely enough manner as I need and at least a few of them were more pertinent to this category, I decided to present my case here as well. Over Christmas break I w...
