Re: Trend of dead crabs - am I doing something wrong?
Bless you for hanging in there! Most people get in not knowing what an ordeal it can be to get things set up. It can get so overwhelming! You are doing a fantastic job at learning and improving! Once you get over the initial hump of getting things at the right levels, it's a lot of fun to decorate a...

Re: Life in "Crabtopia"
Thanks guys! [emoji4] Giner13, I got my big E guy from my niece. She brought him back from a trip in TN for me from a pet store. We live in KY and she knew I wanted E's (She's a crabber too and got her E's from there on her honeymoon, haha). My other little guys were a lucky find at a pet store sup...

Re: Life in "Crabtopia"
Haven't posted in forever! Things are going well. About to have to put my extra heaters on for the winter. Harder for me to keep heat up in such a tall tank. Kids are good. Usually have 6-10 up at once. It varies a lot and I can't really tell a lot apart because a bunch of my babies have had a big g...

I once had to clean a flooded 20 long and that was traumatic enough to make me fix a false bottom!

Re: New 65g build, lots of questions as I go!
I have lots of Marimo balls in my fish tanks. They are pretty hardy but they do lose shape if you don't watch and they get squished under decor or stuff. I know you can buy fake ones. Maybe go with that if you want one so there is no chance of them dying.

Once again, the gentle giant, the one and only Frodo has returned! I'm so happy! I gave him a bunch of worm castings to celebrate! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160708/a18e1bf42d9ac297e263f00c149e38c7.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160708/45e7402d2f5d0cbfea0b8c04b7859e20.jpg http://upload...

Thought I would share this picture of Boromir (I think? Haha!) from the other night.
He looks like a crab angel or something watching over the tank! [emoji23]

Re: Looks like 'suds' in water pool
I think it may be, like oily waste stuff from the hermits? When the water gets dirty and they drag stuff in I think it does something to the water that makes the surface tension higher so the air has a little harder time breaking through the surface so it looks more "sudsy"? Don't trust me on that b...
