Re: help what happened
I am so sorry to hear this. I had one of mine kill his friend over a shell last week. It doesn't make any sense.

Re: Crab killed his tank mate possibly for shell
I did not see the attack, I got back to see Comet holding onto Bigs shell and refusing to let go. Bigs body was buried nearby. I think that she was pretty mangled as I saw two of her legs in the substrate. My partner found her and buried her so that I did not have to see and remember her that way. C...

Crab killed his tank mate possibly for shell
Hello everyone, I am absolutely devastated and in need of some advice. My Crabs have always gotten along. my crab named Big, was actually the biggest in the tank but super gentle and social and I loved her so much (they are Australian crabs so our version of big is not like American version). Comet ...

Re: Advice on mixing sand into tat
Hi, I just have Coir in there. What if I put the sand on top and let the crabbies work it through as they are digging around?

Advice on mixing sand into tat
Hi everyone,
I have been told that I need to mix some sand into my substrate. What type of sand should I get and can you suggest how to go about mixing it in. I have one little crab down moulting.
Thanks
Tarn

Advice on Hermit crab networks
Hi Everyone, I just joined a facebook group called Hermit Crab owners. I know that everyone wants to create great environments for their crabs and I am so open to advice but I was jumped on by a woman as soon as I posted a picture of some of my crabs, not my tat. She immediately assumed that I had n...

Re: Crab has come up from moult with two legs missing
Thanks CallaLily. Update, Jake (who I believe is a girl) is doing super well. She is now behaving as she always has, just with a slight limp :) . Comet also came up last night and headed straight to the bath. It was so cute, he played around on his back and then flipped over. He spent about 10 minut...

Re: Crab has come up from moult with two legs missing
Thanks, I will fill in the template in my lunch break (sneaking onto forum whilst at work). I am sure that he wasn't attacked and that it was a moulting issue. His buddies seemed happy to see him, they had a talk and he climbed in the window of his house (one of his favourite things to do). He went ...

Sorry I mistyped, Jake is only missing one leg. So he still has both claws and one leg on the left hand side (one leg missing).
Thanks Tarn

Crab has come up from moult with two legs missing
Hi, I am a fairly new crab mother. My crab Jake has just come up from his first moult (with me). I have had several crabs moult successfully in my tat. He came up this morning after being down for approx. 3 weeks. I was so excited to see him that it took a minute for me to realise that something was...

I am so sorry to hear that, I have tears in my eyes at my desk. I had that happen recently with two little tiny guys that I rescued. It is heart breaking. You just have to remember that you did a great thing saving him.
Sending you hugs
