Re: Australian hermit crab supplies websites?
Thanks for the tips :) Ah Australia... Beautiful country, but I'd never want to live there. For multiple reasons, crazy shipping rules being the least of them (I'm a northern creature at heart, and it's too freakin' hot down there). Really wish I could visit though :) Edit: Also! I've got shells up...

Re: Australian hermit crab supplies websites?
I might be posting some shells and things to my hermit crab supply store on Etsy soon, and those will be available for international shipping :D The foods, however, I'm not shipping internationally just yet, but if you are interested I will look up the relevant laws and perhaps that will be a thing...

Re: New crab, need advice please
Aussies can be a bit stubborn, just keep offering shells and hope he changes. I suggest getting a few new shells if he is showing no interest after a while, as it is likely he never will! :) Maybe boil the existing shells in salt water or rubbing olive oil around the opening - not inside - and see ...

Re: Australian hermit crab supplies websites?
Hmm, besides ebay? Have you looked here: http://www.hermitcrabassociation.com/pages/shopping.html Has a few aussie stores listed.. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of variety for us compared to the US, i suggest looking at some reptile/fish online shops for a greater variety. :) Thanks a lot, never ...

Re: New owner with a few questions.
Sounds like your little crab is stressed out. I would leave him alone for about 24 hours just to let him get used to his new home. Yes, most crabs do dig straight away to de-stress or in some cases, molt because shop conditions are bad. You should have attleast 8 inches of substrate (sand, EE or bot...

Australian hermit crab supplies websites?
Hello everyone, I'm from Australia and in need of some more shells, hiding/climbing toys. I was wondering if any of you know any good online hermit crab supply stores? As I can't find any online stores based in Aus and I don't want to pay $30 shipping overseas.... Thanks!

Re: New crab, need advice please
Shell changes are a bit of a taboo subject. My E, Tappity, had an ill-placed worn-down spot on his shell, and it looked like he had a moldy butt. All the other crabs were lookin' stylish in their new shiny turbos and [non babylonias], struttin their crabby selves all over the tat. The other very fa...

New crab, need advice please
Hey everyone, one of my new Aussie hermit crabs is in a shell WAY too small for his size. He can barely retain into his shell and he won't change! I have a large variety of shells his size but that won't cut it.... Any advice or tips would help, Thanks
