Swims got...eaten? (GRAPHIC PICS)

I've had Swims for a little over 1 1/2 years now and he has always been such a character. I've lost him and found him between my mattresses, he somehow got down my front stairs and through my gate to my driveway once, he has always been one of my favorite crabs to tell stories about. But suddenly ye...

Oh my gosh I am so excited for one of the crabbers on HCA to get one so we can celebrate!

FINALLY

My biggest PP, Sebastian, has been with me for 1 year+ and NEVER molted with me! I began worrying that he'd refuse to molt and just die. Recently though, he disappeared and I was hoping for the best (molting). I was right! Two nights ago I saw him and I was so excited! The thing is, he's large, but ...

Re: Mites, Molting, PPS?

Thank you for your support, I thought it was a good idea to keep them together since they came from the same place, that is what I've been told before but I guess every crab is different.

Re: Mites, Molting, PPS?

Oh my goodness, okay, thank you. I never noticed her being particularly being bullied. I knew crabs fought but "torn" never even crossed my mind. The (I believe) Ruggies are still nowhere near her, I never heard chirping, and they both have shells that are "turbo" (I think) while she has the one sho...

Re: Mites, Molting, PPS?

This is when he (not sure of gender actually) arrived home, he seemed happy and healthy. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160523/f82729ec4fc9fd632221a5597146c2cc.jpg These on the other hand are how I found him most recently and they were taken within the past half hour I would say and he is still d...

Mites, Molting, PPS?

I purchased 3 crabs from a place called the East Bay Vivarium that I love very much. They take the best care of their hermit crabs and of their reptiles that I've seen locally. I've actually found exotics (other than Ecudorians) there, that includes Indos, Ruggies, and Violas. I believe I purchased ...

Re: New Terrarium, How to transfer sand?

Unfortunately, my car has been in the shop for about 10 weeks now, I only have one 50lb bag of play sand, the rest is in the terrariums, what utensil would be best to do the digging process with?

Re: New Terrarium, How to transfer sand?

Ugh, Liviey just stop. (Talking to myself.)
How do I transfer sand from one tank to another without harming molters (which I don't know how many or where they are)?
Also, when I do this move to the bigger tank, how can I boost the moisture of the substrate?

Re: New Terrarium, How to transfer sand?

(Probs my fault lol.) The main question for this post is how do I remove sand from one tank and transfer it to a new one? I don't know how many molters I have or where they are. I have 3 tanks I will be transferring the sand from into the new one. The other question is how can I get my substrate mor...

New Terrarium, How to transfer sand?

I am getting a new terrarium, ever since my move back to my mom's, I can barely see my crabs. My 20gal is at the bottom of a big bookshelf, one of my 10gals and my 5.5gal ISO are above the 20gal, and my other 10gal is across the room. It is also difficult to position the heating lamps for the ones t...
