Re: 3 new adoptees
Ok, so one last follow up. Two of these guys are down in my ISO molting. Both went down with the 1st week I got them and haven't been up since. The last one I moved into the main tank and he's been eating a lot and seems to have settled on an over sized tapestry turbo (though he still frequently che...

Re: 3 new adoptees
Thanks. I actually have had better luck with adoptions than buying from a pet shop. My largest and most active crab, Goliath, was my 1st adoption.
Was planning on moving these 3 into the big tank on Tuesday and putting the ISO away. But I guess I'll have to keep the ISO running until he resurfaces.

Re: 3 new adoptees
Update.
On night number 2 after getting these little guys, the one in the green shell dug down. And while I wish him well I had hoped that he would have waited until I'd been able to get them in the big tank.
Be strong little dude and I hope to see you soon.

3 new adoptees
I got contacted last week from my post in the adoption area and picked these little guys up last night. They are in ISO for a while and enduring daily baths as their previous owner had found some mites a few weeks back, but I haven't seen any evidence of them. Introduction time. Sorry no names yet. ...

Re: King of the Hill
Well he does things like this regularly. Sleeping in the food dish, or hanging upside down zonked out.DarthKrab wrote:How do you know when they are sleeping?

He sleeps all hanging out, legs sprawled out most days.

http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160405/55111936eb4724faa78181bed5468be9.jpg So there he is asleep right on top of the coconut like he owns the place while everyone else found a cozy spot to sleep. He stayed there most of the day. I guess he just didn't feel the need hide. I envision him up there ...

Re: OR, WA, ID, ND, SD, WY, MT Adopters
I live in Hillsboro, Oregon and have been crabbing for over a year. I can travel an hour in any direction which should cover most of the Portland metro area and into Vancouver, Wa. If you're just a bit outside that let me know...if I can swing the time I'll make the drive. Update: Currently my tank ...

Congrats!
I can't wait. I have one new crab down fof just over 2 weeks now. Another new one who's begun digging. And one adoptee I just got back from picking up. Again congrats.

R.I.P. little one. You just went through too much on your journey. At least you're in a better place now.

poor sad new crabbie
So my daughter and I brought home 2 very small crabbies Tuesday last week. One spent 48 hours tanking up and promptly dug down hopefully to molt. The other changed shells the 1st night (yea!), but hasn't eaten or drank at all since that 1st night. He's so lethargic he barely even moves. I'm sure it'...

Re: Returning crabber introduction
So we brought 2 little PPs home on Tuesday. My 13yr Old, bless her heart, in the store says yuck dad painted shells are sooo ugly. Lol. Not sure what the store people thought. Unfortunately all the hermits were in painted shells. Anyway, we brought 2 teeny to small PPs home. The smaller one, no name...

Re: Returning crabber introduction
So I got my UTH installed and sand substrate in the tat. And after almost a week everything is stable. Coolest spot staying 76-78 with the warmest just 88...that seems like a pretty good temperature gradient. Humidity has hovered at 80 for all this time, but today wants to settle at 78...again not b...
