Re: Sad news :/

That looks amazing! My first tank was a 10gal and mine was awful. You made such great use of space. I love it! How large are the 2 you have left? How long have you kept hermit crabs? Crabs don't molt in 2 days so he was probably digging for fun, practicing locations for an upcoming molt or just exp...

Sad news :/

He wasn't doing much and he just hid behind the plants :/ I did everything to provide for them in the tank :/ I recently found one crab hanging by the salt water dish and saw that his claw came off him ! He's still alive but he looks kinda depress...

Hi ! It's allie again :) So far my crabs seem to be doing alright.. I don't want to jinx it lol --> one of them went digging down and stayed for like 2 days.. His colors seem brighter than usual.. He finally changed shells but the shell he picked is still quite small for him ( I will buy more shell ...

Re: New crab owner;concerns about not molting and eating..

Totally normal behavior for new crabs. Keep offering a variety of healthy foods , they will eat. Same with shells, offer a variety and they will change when they're ready. I know it's easy to worry about these guys but as long as conditions are right , they'll do the rest. ;) Have you tried insulat...

Re: New crab owner;concerns about not molting and eating..

How long have you had them? Try bumping your temp up some. Many find their crabs are more active in the low 80s. If the surface of the substrate is drying out a little, I would go ahead and give it a good mist (dechlor freshwater). I will moist it again but whenever I use the heat lamp it brings do...

New crab owner;concerns about not molting and eating..

Hi I'm allie :) I recently adopted four hermit crabs last Tuesday.. Their previous habitat conditions weren't that great ..I got them from petco. When I brought them home.. I wasn't sure if the two small/medium crabs was alive until I dipped them in salt water before putting them in the tank then th...

Tank is now on temp 81 and humidity 99! Thank you guys! Now here's the thing.. Since I don't really need the heat lamp for h...

Re: Much needed help :/

Higher the temp the lower the humidity and vice versa. I bought custom glass lids for mine and the humidity is always 85 or higher. They love the high humidity...I do not like the condensation on the glass lol they like to drink it! Weirdos. Lol How large is your tank? Where did you get the custom ...

Re: Much needed help :/

One thing I'd point out about this setup. I would position the heat lamp and water dishes away from each other. When I used a heat lamp too close to my water dishes (directly above, about twelve inches above substrate level) it made the water much too warm and my crabs did not want to go in, althou...
