Re: Prime hitchin' a ride!
Cute picture! Have you tried adding extra shells to the tank? That might get your hermits out of the toxic painted shells. When I adopted crabs in painted shells, they always changed the instant they had turbos offered! :) Cheers! I have a ton of shells layer around. Prime, the small red one refuse...

Re: I'm having an odd problem with a molting crab, please he
How will I know if he is dead? I mean, if he is just molting as usual, will he still react if we disturb him?
I am still relatively new to crabbing, and he is my first to molt, so I'm not sure what usually happens.

I'm having an odd problem with a molting crab, please help!
Hello all! My crab Bumblebee went down to molt over a month ago. He chose to molt near the glass of our tank, and I can see one of his legs and a small part of the shell. The "window" is about the size of the dime. A few days after he went under, our tank had a small mold problem. But it is under co...

Where to find Equadorian hermit crab?
Hello all! I live in a town that doesn't have much access to a variety of hermit species. It's pretty much Petco for anything, and they only have PPs. I have 5 PPs, and would love to add an E to the mix. I just don't know where to find one! I was wondering if anyone had any info on a quality website...

I need help identifying my new crab's species!
Hello! I just "rescued" a cute new Hermie from Petco (I know, I don't like to support them, but we don't have many other options where I live and I couldnt resist!). I have 4 other PPs in my tank. My new guy, Crabcakes, is much smaller and has a really dark blue pincher unlike my other crabs. Is he ...

I've got mold! Help please!
Hello all! I'm a new crab owner, and I've had my guys about 2 weeks now. One of them, Bumblebee, is down for a molt, and he seems to be under/near a wooden log that's positioned vertically. Today I noticed that there is some mold growing on the log, and spread to some substrate next to it. I'm prett...

Looking for advice on humitity.
Hello! I have a tank with a screen top, and I cover it with damp hand towels to keep the humidity levels high. I am wanting to make something a little nicer looking than hand towels on the top. Does anyone have a crafty way of keeping in humidity with their screen covers? All advice is appreciated! ...

Question on molting
Hello! I am a new crab owner and I have a question about molting. I woke up this morning to find my smallest crab missing, but noticed a large hole in my substrate. I assume he dug underground. My question is do crabs bring there shells under when they molt as well? Because his shell seems to be mis...
