Don't worry! He's eating his exoskeleton! It's the old hard layer that they shed when they molt. It's full of nutrients to help them regrow their "skin".

If it's surface mold it probably just old food dragged around by the crabs! As long as you get rid of all the mold on top the millers will be just fine! Don't worry this happens to everyone!

What I have Sadler had to do before is start digging and when u find a molted scoop them their Exo and some dirt around them and let them stay in a plastic cup... If u do this be sure to cover the top of the cup

Sadly I don't see anything in the shell but when I went to look at him again I am sure he's dead, his abdomen I all shriveled up but it's there.. Thanks for your help! His fenurial is tomorrow...

When my crab pulled a surface molt I didn't realize since I was asleep[emoji23] but I thought one of my other crabs ate him since he wasn't iso'd but turns out he was way far back in his shell! He went from the size of a quarter to about a penny or dime! I'm sure he'll be fine if he's iso'd! Best of...

I adopted a hermit crab with my current one that was in a bright orange shell, he later died but! I just got a new hermit crab in the same exact shell and he ran right over to him and seemed to love him! The now sleep together, eat together, and do everything together!
