The latest lead is that they might both be Pseudosesarma sp.

Re: Need help with ID - Perisesarma sp?
I'm sorry, but none of the three match completely. The Geosesarma mentioned have dark eyes, and both types of mine have light eyes. The Chiromantes doesn't seem to have red claws. Geosesarma have a more cuter face... it's hard to explain... these ones have more wideset eyes, if that makes sense. At ...

Re: Need help with ID - Perisesarma sp?
They seem to look the same no matter what time of day, but they are in a temp home right now, so they can hide a lot. From my inexperiensed eyes, it looks like tow different spieces, but then sometimes there are differens in colour when age or gender comes into play (not saying that's what's going o...

Re: Halloween Crabs (Gecarcinus quadratus)
I just bought a pair of halloween crabs, and hope they will be fine together. They have a house each in the crabitat, and sand to dig into. I just hope they will be fine when they molt. They're eating cuttlebone like crazy. I give some of their food in a dish and some in their houses, hoping they'll...

Re: Need help with ID - Perisesarma sp?
So, I went ahead and took some pictures. I put the crabs in a small clear plastic container, first without water, and then I added the water so they would be calmer. Here are pictures of the one (of three) I think is P bidens: http://www.reptilian-feline.com/pets/images/20151119_crab1.jpg http://www...

Need help with ID - Perisesarma sp?
I bought 6 small crabs at an expo a few weeks ago. They were sold to me on the cheap because they had had a rough transport - lost legs, lost claws. The guy said they were vampire crabs, but they wasn't as colourful as the ones I have, but with 53 sp of Geosesarma I figured he might be right. On clo...

Re: Halloween Crabs (Gecarcinus quadratus)
That's correct. From the first two that I ordered, one was dead-on-arrival and the other died within a day. It would be cool if more people would get into raising them and trying to breed them in captivity so they don't need to be taken from the wild. The problem with breeding them in captivity is ...

Making a proper menu for my PPs - help?
So... I've been over the list of safe food, and the one ofer unsafe... and it doesn't really help that much... well, I'll explain. I feel like a sudden parent who with the kids got a list of safe food, and has worked through broccoli (kids didn't like it) and spinach (kids didn't eat that either) an...

Re: Saltwater pool tips to encourage usage by crabs
Ooooohhhh that looks lovely!!! I'm so jealous... my crabitat isn't big enough for that... at least not this first version I'm working on. There are different types of air stone... is there one type that is better for saltwater? I use the water from my turtle tank, and mix some of that with Sera Mari...

Re: Saltwater pool tips to encourage usage by crabs
I love the idea of a proper sized pool for my hermies, so this is something I will keep in mind for later when I get a bigger crabitat.
Sorry if I missed it somewhere in your posts, but what about fresh water... do you have a pool for that as well, or just a small dish so they can drink?

Re: Working on the crabitat - right direction?
Thanks for the tip on using marbels, great idea! And I found some play sand :) I'll go and get in the weekend. One bag is 15kg and I get 4 bags for 100 SEK, so that's pretty cheap for clean sand :D I read that I should use 5 parts sand to 1 part coconut mulch, right? That means I will have to mix wh...

Re: Working on the crabitat - right direction?
I'm sorry if my question about the divider came off as an attack! I probably should have had my coffee first lol... I much nicer after coffee. Plus my question was pure curiosity as I agree with CallaLily and try to offer as much molting space as possible. That's OK :) We all have our ways of doing...

Re: Working on the crabitat - right direction?
Thank you Soilentgringa and CallaLily! It's a nice idea with the dubble water bowls, it sure looks a lot easier! That way I think I can skip the devider... just need to get more sand... and I never thought sand was really soooo heavy! Play sand... is that more or less the same that is used for makin...
