HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Several crabbers have posted about taking their hermits outside but no one has reported if it makes a difference afterward. Do you notice a difference in their behavior when they're outdoors or after they come back inside? Are they more lively when they can feel the sun? This is actually the first time I've done this... I'm surprised at how active they are at the moment. I figured they may be timid at first and stay hid...

It's 80 degrees here in Florida today. We've had lots of rain recently (which has added to our high humidity). I decided who ever was up and active this afternoon would get to enjoy some sunshine. I have a 2 Es that love turbos even though there are definitely plenty of other "E favorites". Love having them go against the norm!

I got both crabs for $30. I didn't have to drive far, and I couldn't leave them in those conditions. I don't regret it! They are both eating, exploring and enjoying having more room to roam.

Very hefty! The only shells I have even close to their size are very lightweight snail shells. Large Marge switched into one and I can tell she isn't liking it. Sounds like a good reason to visit Richard's seashells again.

Tell them they can sell the tank, which is where the money is at, more easily if critters don't go with it. Then see if they'd give you the crabs so they can sell the tank quickly for close to or the same price they want to charge you for the crabs. Maybe they'll see it's to their benefit to give y...

Yay and thank you! I hope you got a deal on the crabs: $50 for two crabs + a deplorable set-up is insanity! I'm not taking the tank and will definitely get them down on the price.
