Re: New tank with different sized hermies?
I don't have any problems. Mine are mostly medium large to large with a couple small and mediums thrown in. They all chill together in moss pits. The only issues I see are the bigger ones always eating first and knocking the smaller ones out of the way, but no one gets hurt and they all eat eventual...

Re: Escaped Crab
He was properly scolded but he's perfectly fine. I think he's been sulking because he's had his Big Adventure cut short. 18 PP..Doc, Ollie (Elephant), 8 Ball, Squidward, Plankton, Jägerbomb, Al Capone, Gremlin, Lila, Prozac, Paxil, Rufus, King Henry VIII, Queen Elizabeth I and Robert Dudley. 3 E's.....

Escaped Crab
We recently cleaned out the crabs tat. At some point one of our big crabs, King Henry VIII, managed to escape and we didn't realize it. This morning my husband found him by the side of our bed trying to climb a set of drawers. He's been out for up to 5 days and we had no clue he was gone. I'm kind o...

Re: suggestions on making my crabitat better?
This thermometer/hygrometer seems to be pretty popular. I've got one in each tank. They're cheap and accurate.

New Adoptees
Tuesday I went and picked up 4 PP's and 3 E's from one of the members on here who is moving. They haven't been named yet. I'm still thinking. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/07/5096c8ad2696a84484ec2f282320aa5b.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/07/9f7c9e0074ad37819a12c1f5d893e1bf.jpg http...

Re: New crab, odd shell
What a cutie! I love the little ones. I've named my new little guy (still don't know gender!) Nugget. He's chilling out in iso until he's not so pale and I'm sure the molting process is complete. I think he might like the shell he's in. He's got a dozen tiny shells to change into if he wants. Sent f...

New crab, odd shell
We went to petsmart tonight to get some feeder fish and I walked over to the crabs. This little guy was huddled in the corner behind the "moss pit" as far away from the larger crabs as possible. S/he is pretty pale. The salesperson said he was out of his shell yesterday and just finished surface mol...

Re: Hi, and help?
Cute crab! It looks like those extra shells might be a tad too big for him. PP's generally go for turbos (right). I would just try getting a few that are a smidge smaller.

Is husband #3 in the future? Lol you might want to order that topper while you have the chance. [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk I hope not! If this one doesn't last I'm not getting another one (unless he's totally loaded and like 95 years old)! Half the time I want to smother him in h...

Re: HCA-Hermit Crabs Anonymous?
My husband was just happy I only brought crabs home. My kids rolled their eyes at the names and my smart aleck daughter asked where Tylenol and Motrin were. Paxil had already dug under in the little tank. I just wanted them to have a chance to change shells and eat/drink in peace. Sent from my iPhon...

HCA-Hermit Crabs Anonymous?
Today was a totally crap day. If I wasn't fighting with kids it was the husband. Then the insurance company had me on hold for 2 hours and hung up on me. So when the pet store called to tell me they took in 4 crabs a family couldn't care for, I knew it was fate. The two big ones were spoken for. It ...

Re: What is my hermit crab doing?
They usually dig deeper to molt unless something is wrong, then you've got a surface molt. It's only been 2 days? I don't think it'd be a problem to pick him up and see for yourself if you're that worried. It might stress him out more if he's already stressed or it could just annoy him because he's ...

Re: What is my hermit crab doing?
You probably don't have to isolate him at this point. He could just be destressing. He was moved to a new tank and has a new tank mate. Mine don't like change at the beginning and after a move I won't see most of them for a while. I really wouldn't worry about it, he sounds normal. Sent from my iPho...
