How soon should I reintroduce?

Hey! 2 weeks ago I set up a brand new crab tank and a smaller ISO tank. I did the redesign because I had a problem with my one crab eating the other one but was unsure if she killed it also, she also charged my other small crab. After this I redid my whole tank idea, the humidity and substrate is al...

Re: Crabitat Redesigned - Problems with ISO

huh tampons, I would not have thought of that but would tampons be safe to use? Idk what stuff that use to make them. I dug a hole in the sand because when I picked the salt water dish there was standing water in it :/ not sure how that happened. I took Bonnie out and put her in a carry cage just fo...

Re: Crabitat Redesigned - Problems with ISO

Okay I have a new problem, still with the ISO small tank. The humidity dial still reads it is lower then it should be, so I've been misting it more ofter, not pouring water in but misting. When I set up the tank the sand was sandcastle consistency but somehow it is almost sandy thick soup now and it...

Making a climb net(?)

My little guys love to climb, right now there are four logs to climb on plus their hide log and coconut. I want to add something else for them to climb on and was thinking something like a fish net, then securing it with those little suction cup hooks so no tape residue. The nets they sell at craft ...

Re: Crabitat Redesigned, small Humidity problem.

It's an analog one, I did the salt test to measure and it showed it was about 2% under what it should have read, though I do not see anything on the back to try and adjust it with. She seems all active and happy though like it nice and humid, sand is still sandcastle damp, salt water and fresh water...

Crabitat Redesigned - Problems with ISO

Hi :3 A few days ago I had some problems with my one hermit attacking another plus eating a dead comrad...the problem has been resolved by separation and a complete redo of both my main tank and my iso smaller tank. My big tank is now a small tall 18x18x24 reptile tank with the whole bottom filled w...

Re: Is it safe?

Ah okay, so most likely it would be okay to try and see if my 4 even go for the meal worms. I'm attempting to broaden their food past that store one I originally posted, they loved the raw organic honey and organic banana piece I out in earlier, I caught my medium pp sitting on the shell it was in a...

Re: Is it safe?

Lol I went to edit my last post then saw you guys responded already. I do have one question before I give any to them, my father feed both the meal worms (at least I think he mixes it with their bran) and crickets this Flukers food , I just glanced at the ingredients and it mentions copper sulfate w...

Re: Is it safe?

The mention of meal worms actually made me think of something. Since the crabbies are scavengers would they eat dead meal worms? We buy meal worms and crickets for our leopard geckos and if the hermits would nibble on the dead ones then they wouldn't be a complete waste, our geckos won't touch them ...

Okay, so more as a treat then main food but otherwise it is okay, they do seem to like it a least.

Is it safe? - No longer need the thread, thanks <3

I have been feeding my little guys a Flukers Variety diet for over half a year now and they really seem to like it, then I noticed the forum about unsafe commercial foods. It does not contain Copper Sulfate like the ones on the list, and several other Flukers foods are on the list that they are safe...

Re: Help! Sudden aggression + possible murder

Thanks for responding, there are a few things I wanted to clarify or ask more questions about. 1. I never use water with chlorine, I use the distilled water you buy in gallon jugs that my father buys for the bromeliads. I can look for the salt, I had gotten a thing of hermit crab sea salt then when ...

Found some wood ~ Please close or move

Does anyone know where to get cactus wood that would be safe in the tank? I have a big piece about a foot long my hermit crab absolutely loves but I've never seen them for sale anywhere else.

Re: Sudden aggression + possible murder.

Thanks. At the moment she is in a separate carry case until I figure out what to do, if I have to keep her separate I won't have room another tank. I've had hermits for over ten years and this is the first this happen, time for more improving for the little guys.

Problem fixed please delete or close.

I was asked to fill out one of the form and I wasn't sure if I post it there or here so I wanted to do both and link the other Edit: here is the link click 1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? - Sand between 2-3inches, if a crab buried itself you could not tell where th...
