Re: New to Hermies
While I am internet and computer savvy, I honestly have no idea how to post pictures. Believe me , I have pictures. :P I'll try scanning through the FAQ again, though, if you all are really interested. They're adorable to me anyway! I did have my sister post a neat video of my little Buster s...

Re: Was This A Bad Idea?
Its not the burying of himself that concerns me, its that I put several inches of substrate on top of him and I'm afraid he won't be able to find his way out...soilentgringa wrote:He'll be fine. Some crabs just like to dig!

Was This A Bad Idea?
My hermit Nicky has been burrowing down a lot lately. I don't think he's getting ready to molt because he is EXTREMELY hairy. I actually think he nay have just molted before I adopted him. Now my area of concern: I needed deeper substrate so I got some today. My boyfriend has been watching Nicky for...

Re: I Just Saved Merlin!
Most people say that as soon as they get in their new tank with natural shells, 9/10 times they will change into one of the naturals almost immediately or within a few days, BUT every crab is different!

Re: Where to buy crabs?
I actually just called one of the two Petcos in my area and the woman I spoke to said she can call the Petcos in the Houston area to see if they have any exotics. Apparently some Petcos sell Straws! I also contacted the Mom and Pop petstore that I got my 3 PP's from and she said she could order Stra...

Re: Where to buy crabs?
Just wanted to chime in and say that if you've gotten some experience and are able to maintain a consistently optimal habitat for a while, you can always adopt. We have gotten around 30 Purple Pinchers in the last year. It is my personal opinion that unless you are an experienced crabber with a cou...

What is LHC? Proud owner of 6 PPs,Twinkie, Tweedles, Tiny, Nugget, Squidgy, and Bumbie! :) Its a site called live hermit crabs and they ship crabs to you over night. I watched a lot of unboxing videos on YouTube for their site, mostly straws being ordered. A lot of people did seem unhappy with it s...

Re: Where to buy crabs?
Try Segrest. Throw in your zip code in that link, you might be able to get a store near you to order in some violas or straws...I actually don't know all the species they sell. It's worth a shot :) edit: They sell blues, straws, E's, and PPs. Ditto! They really are a badly organized company. I woul...
