Had to part with my Hermit crabs.
Well I no longer have my beautiful Purple Pinchers. My family had to move out of Oklahoma and move all the way to Georgia. I couldnt take my Hermit Crabs with me. I ended up giving the entire set up, tank and stand, foods, and crabs to a friend I worked with who had Teenagers. This was so hard to pa...

I will be off here for quite a while.
It has been such a pleasure being a part of this group since 2009. I am moving out of state, heading to Georgia end of this month and my 5 remaining PP's were given to a good friend of mine who has 3 kids and 3 step kids. I am sure with my help she will continue to keep them healthy and happy as she...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I havent been on in a long time. Life sometimes gets in the way. We have 5 crabs left. We lost 3 of the original PP's from Port Aransas TX, and Charger my favorite is still with us. The kids had dumped too much water in changing out their dishes, getting the tank too wet before I noticed and got it ...

Stripe and Max you will both be missed
We got Stripe our first female, and Max our first male hermit crabs in Port Aransas TX, while down in Corpus Christie in 2009 on a Girl Scout and Mom trip. They were the size of a nickel, shell and all. They were just a bit larger than Golf ball size when we lost them. To make room in our living roo...

Correction...RIP Bomber and Peekaboo.
As I was rearranging the 40 gal., I found another crab alive. I have since realized it is Crabbycakes. She was hiding under the big hut in the corner- and she wasnt letting go. It is still hard and sad losing the 2 I did, but somehow finding Crabbycakes made it easier.

#13 PP Lucky Chance
I knew that Chance wasnt gonna make it but I had hoped that just maybe. He was given to me free at the pet stop Friday. We all were thinking it was already dead. I took it home and discovered it was still alive, until Monday. At least he didnt die in that place. Poor baby. PPS. Our first loss.

Jesse
My daughter's best friend has had her crabs the same time frame as we have. She had Jesse- a deep maroon/purple medium sized PP that was friendly and loved to explore. Jesse went down to molt and never came up. He did a naked Molt- and all that remained was his empty shell and 2 legs and the large P...

I have never been wrong. I can tell is someone is telling the truth or blowing smoke. And my poor hubby- every tim...
