My crabs leg seems to have cracked please help
The photo link told me the page doesn't exist. When you get your uth, make sure you mount it to the side or back just above the sand level.

My crabs leg seems to have cracked please help
They will lose legs with PPS (post purchase stress). Just make sure your tank conditions are optimal and that's all you can do. Just realize that many of these guys don't make it due to the conditions they went through before getting to you :-( That being said, if they do drop any legs, they will gr...

A few questions from a new craber
As long as you have used dechlorinater it will be fine. However, I like to use my salt water to moisten my sand. It helps prevent mold.

how can you tell if your crabs a boy or girl? Also did I mess up with shells?
Here is how you tell sex: http://www.hermit-crabs.com/sexing.html. no you did nothing wrong. They like to explore and try new shells. You'll want to have some the same size as ones they are in now and some a little bigger. As long as there are no holes in the shells, they will find one they like!

Is there anything wroung with my tank?
The general rule for depth is 3 times higher than your tallest. Two is a good number for a 10 gal. I wouldn't get any more. You could take out their metal carrier with them in it while you add more sand or just put them at one end while you put sand in the other, then move them to that end while you...

Is there anything wroung with my tank?
You've come to the right place for help! How many are in there and what are their sizes? It appears that your sand needs to be deeper. Hopefully it is play sand? Do you keep the screen lid mostly covered to keep in humidity?

Just ordered two sets of 15 from bugsincyberspace.com. I'm excited! So, will this be enough for a 55 gal? I saw that you need 100-200 for that size, will 30 of them multiply to that? Also, if we get these bugs to clean the crabitat, why is it necessary to do a deep clean? Wouldn't they do all the cl...

I also hold my net in place by using 3M hooks upside down on the outside of the tank. I just have the plexiglass lid velcro shut over it. To raise your humidity, use a spray bottle and spray all of the net each day..that boosts the humidity immediately and works very well.

Not sure about what Walmart has, but I got my net from Michael's craft store. It's just an old fishing net that they package and resell for decor. I got more than I can ever use at once (so have extra for replacing, etc) fairly cheap using the 40% off coupon you can get from their weekly circular or...

Here is my new 55 right now. I might add another small second level using some cake making tier columns and plexiglass.

I got my first 4 at Petco a little over 3 months ago and they all seem to be doing great. Of course they were in a little better conditions than the bigger ones I just got at the different location where limbs were strewn. The biggest of the big ones changed his shell last night! Also, one of the sm...

Well, what happened was that I went to one Petco location hoping to get 2 PP's and 2 E's but they only had PP's, so I just got the two smaller ones there and planned to go to another location for two more, hopefully E's. Well, I saw those two big guys at the second location and couldn't leave them T...
