Gerbil issue
Thanks so much! He hasn't bitten me yet, so that's good. I can't pick Nacho (the cage aggressive one) up as easily as Taco. As soon as I touch him he darts very fast. I began to scoop him up, but he quickly jumped out of my hands. Luckily I was holding him close to the bedding in the cage. I appreci...

Gerbil issue
So today I adopted 2 gerbils. They are males. Their names are Nacho and Taco (lol). Here is the issue. Nacho is the issue. They are brothers, but when I adopted them, I was told that Nacho is cage aggressive. What? They did a bad job of explaining what it was. I looked it up on google, but all the r...

Playtime for Crabs
I love crab playtime. Why I do is I put them in a big enclosed area in my room and I put a critter carrier lid in there so they can use it as a jungle gym. Also I put a piece of chicken wire standing vertically so they can climb it (I connect it to the fence surrounding them with twist ties). The la...

Welcome back xmonster! Glad this sight helped you! It helped me a lot, and I'm sure that even though you don't have land hermits, it will still help you. If you ever need crab help or have crabby questions, this is always the place to go. So, again, welcome back!

Can painted shells get crabs stuck in them?
I did a post called "Shell Addict?" that describes my hermit Banana never coming out if his shell. His shell is painted. Can they like get paint stuck to them so they are stuck to the inside? Could that be the culprit?

Eco-Earth attracting fungus gnats?
I have read that ee attracts fungus gnats. I almost bought it, but I didn't want to risk it so I bought t-Rex crab island jungle bed forest blend. Will that attract fungus gnats too? And does ee even attract them or is that just a myth?

First time making an ISO tank. No idea what to do
How do I make an ISO tank? Do I put water and food dishes? I really don't know what to do. My crab is semi buried in my normal tank should I still move him to an ISO? If so, how do I setup an ISO tank, what should the conditions be (humidity and heat wise)? Any tips will help because right now, I'm ...

Thor
People have been wanting me to post pictures of my hermit crabs so here is a pic of Thor, my largest hermit crab. Sorry that he's not all the way out off his shell, cause it doesn't make the best picture. If you want better pictures or more pictures just reply that and I will try to get more pics of...

A good humidity trick :)
To help your humidity levels, just must the whole tank with some declorhinated water (I use a hair spritz bottle, but any spray bottle will work) and then close the lid (you have to have a lid for this to work and a mesh lid doesn't work well). For me, it raises my humidity by 5%. And for me, 5% is b...

I got rid of my sponges!!
I've been reading around these forums and found some posts that said sponges are bad, and like are bacteria breeding grounds. So I looked it up and most places like petco said they were good and boosted humidity. But then I went on a trusted website, the hermit crab patch, and learned that why those...
