Temp and Humidity

I've got similar issues with my tank. I just read that someone used tin foil over their uth to help hold the heat in - I'm trying that. Just finished putting it over my heater on the back glass - maybe it will help. I'll let you know. My humidity is good, but my temperature is only around 73 degrees...

"The Hermit Crab Addiction" Store

I've only placed one order so far and I was blown away! Awesome quick service, quality foods, great selection! Wish the shipping was a little cheaper, but I will gladly pay the money because of the awesome foods. My crabs just love the little puffed cereals! After reading everyone's post, I got some...

Project Shellter - cool!

I love this idea! Would be very interested in "volunteering". I think it's a fabulous idea for the administrators of this website to contact the company and let them know about us they'd have more crabaholics contacting them than they'd know what to do with!Haha!

Air Circulation Techniques

I have full aquarium hood for a 20 gallon long. Keeping it closed except for maybe 1/8 inch seems to hold my humidity and heat kinda steady, sometimes on the lower end of the recommended range, sometimes on the higher end, so I find myself completely closing the lid when things for, or opening it a ...

Air Circulation Techniques

On another string, I happened to make a comment about some mold in my tank and I had one response recommending a humidifier/air circulator. I went ahead and ordered it, but it got me to thinking. The humidity in the tank is just about right, with the lid just about closed all the way. I was wonderin...

Yeah, I noticed it too. I was really disappointed though... there isnt any variety now- no choices! I saw the wire hermit crab cage & the also had little critter keeper kits- both disappointing to see. I needed salt water conditioner and so I bought a bottle of their brand. Instructions say to add 3...

Water?

I have a question about water. Ive been using distilled water in my tank for fresh water and also for my salt water mix. I assumed that this water was okay as I didn't think it had any chlorene or anything in it. However, I have not seen a single post that says anyone is using distilled water! Is it...

Oh, and by the way, I took your advice about the substrate. I had a standard 20 gallon tank for my 7 crabs, but with the water dishes and food bowl and hiding huts and climbing features, it seemed very crowded. I got a 20 gallon long tank and now there's tons of room. I got the playsand you recommen...

Hi, Peg!Thank you so much for replying to my request for help; I appreciate all the time you took to give me such a thorough answer. It was wonderful information. At this point, Francis is still naked. To tell you the truth, he's acting fine right now, other than he is unclothed. He's eating, drinkin...

I've only been keeping crabs for about three months. Right after I got them,I lost one crab -I assumed that he was sick as a result of poor conditions in the tank at the pet store. About two days ago,I found one of my sweeties running around without his shell! He tried on a couple of shells and stay...
