Cooked or raw?? depends on that, how humid and warm it is inside and other side of the tank..I put food in at night before I go o bed and take it out before noon.

Crabs need a day and night light cycle.. they won't get the proper light in a tub.. you really need to get a glass tank so you can get the proper lighting. A heat mat fixed to back side to keep the humidity and temperature controlled at all times.

Before you go and start misting and adding water to your tank if you think it's getting to dry..take your crabs out and your things and mix up your sand or what ever your using. Making sure you go way to the bottom..you will be surprised at how much moisture is still at th bottom and can become over...

I put the ends of my wood on slate rock and use big rock to hold it up if needed. It's not touching the damp sand or eco earth and it doesn't mold

Actually you want to be careful when misting. You can mist to much and all that water goes on the side of the glass and goes below and will over saturate your sand in places then you can get mold growing. Oh I have had him since 2009 and when I find him getting his manly ways I pull him away and out.. he is very aggressive! It's like he holds them captive and not for just a little bit it's all day! He is a bully crab..he has killed a many crab..it usually takes a good 2 months before he stops running...

Also the best offense is a good defense! Make sure garage is out regularly and it helps if you put food in Wal-Mart plastic bags an tie them up, keep sinks clean and clean from dirty dishes. Watch out for inside plants they love to be in those to. Don't let food sit around and rot on counters..

I have bug phobia...I don't like any type of bug in my tank good or bad. I deep clean my tank once a year. That means everything out rinsed off, plastic / silk plants replaced. Do you have been extra shells in your tank? He might be getting ready for a shell fight.. depending on the age of your crabs you could also have a male and female..mating season getting ready..
