Re: Moving with molting crabs
Thanks! I am doing a similar system for my non-molters. If I don't get a reply back I'll just wing it the way I suggested and I'll let you know how it goes lol.

Moving with molting crabs
Hi everyone, I have two 55 gallon aquariums for my crabs (one for thr big guys and thr other for the little guy). I am moving into my new apartment this weekend (yay!) but I know I have a few molters. I just rescued a big guy last week, I didn't really want to because I knew I was moving this weeken...

Re: Worms in water bowl
Ha right?! I'm OK with bugs. I have isopods in all my tanks and I'm working in a culture of zebras and Dalmatians. I have those two types in my praying mantis tank which I keep bugs to feed them but no, those little worms were gross! I grew up on a farm and know mosquitoes larva and other bugs but u...

Worms in water bowl
I have been working crazy shifts a work and haven't dumped the water bowl and rinsed it as regularly as normal. It's been like two weeks since I rinsed it, I just have been adding more, I know that's bad, but anyways, I was going to dump the water bowl and rise it tonight and I noticed little black ...

Re: Crab fight and the looser doesnt look good.
Ok thanks, so far he has stayed in the shell. When i get off work I'm going to give him some honey (I picked some up on my way to work). They will be separated that's for sure!

Re: Crab fight and the looser doesnt look good.
I will also add, the little one likes to sit in the food bowl when new food is added and that is normally when it gets bullied out. It likes to climb where the others are and just push them out of the way even when they are not eating. It's not a shell fight, there are plenty for him to go to. The f...

Crab fight and the looser doesnt look good.
1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? 4-6 inches, there is a gradient in the tank composed of sand and coco fiber. 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read?...

Re: Second level problem solved!!
It looks busy up front but they have a lot of room to wander underneath the level. They seem really happy, they haven't been this active for a while. They are always climbing up to the second level. They really like thr natural dried grape vine stick that's in there.

Second level problem solved!!
I have been toying around with different ways to make a second level for a while. The other day I was fixing my shower curtain rod (it needs adjuateded every once in a while) and I had an idea! I went to Walmart and but two of the small 7/16 inch tension rods and put them in, snug but not too snug t...

Adding new substrate with isopods
So my isopods decided I have a perfect breeding tank and now I have a TON LOL. That's not really a problem since my two bugger crabs like to eat them, it's kind of a win win, they self regulate and repopulate Lol. Anyways, as my crabs are getting bigger, I want to add more substrate but there is no ...

Natural Moss?
I have some really nice natural Moss on my property that has not been exposed to any pesticides. Is it safe to add to my hermit crab tank? I noticed that the pill bugs really like them that is the main reason I thought it would be cool to add.

Just ordered food Online thought?
So I know I am completely incapable of making my crabs food lol. I give them fresh stuff when I cook, but that's a big when. Wither my roommates cook or I eat out (my life is crazy!) Anyways, the Comercial food has been bothering me and my crabs don't eat it well. I have been looking around online a...
