My humidity in the tank is always around 85% and temp is around 89 degrees Fahrenheit. Just having trouble keepin...

Re: I made something <3 CRABITAT!!!
Okay I'm back and alive :D to answer a few questions about it that keeps coming up yes the wood is treated. It has not been treated for pest since stuff for bugs can harm the crabs as well. It was treated on site for water resistance (although some of you are right that stuff won't last, but it will...

I made something <3 CRABITAT!!!
Keep in mind I have never build anything before let alone on my own... YIKES xD First I had to get the wood and supplies (soon realized I would run out of money...) http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b409/SstoneC21/1a_zpsjtpxuafv.jpg Built a base that would hold the weight of the substrate plus the...

Mold with molters
I saw some surface mold in my crabitat I need to clean it up and put the proper 5:1 playsand:ee substrate in it but I'm trying to wait for the 3 molters I have thats down under. How dangerous is the mold to them? I'm scrapping the surface mold off but I'm worried about the 3 thats under.

Crickets as a food
I saw crickets are on the safe food list and I have a cricket keeper but how exactly good are crickets for hermit crabs?

Re: Just redid my crabitat is it good?
Okay I'll fix the substrate, the depth is pretty good my largest crab is still a tinier crab from what I've seen on here being called large. I'm in the process of removing all painted shells I've scrubbed most painted shells clean of paint. The ones you see in the shell shop were just put there by m...

Just redid my crabitat is it good?
Hi crabby family! I just redid my 30g tank to make it better in my eyes. Opinions on if its better in the hermies eyes? Its general specs are 6.3inches of substrate, a moss pit in the upper corner, a shell shop in the opposite upper corner, two large water dishes one salt water one fresh water with ...

Re: Winter is coming! Need heating tips.
I don't have another thermometer I'm going out in about 10 minutes to the local pet store what kind should I buy I have a round one now with arms that point to the temp and humidity. The temperature of the room is about 68 degrees. The tank is not insulated and the lid is open wire mesh only no cover.

Winter is coming! Need heating tips.
Newer to hermit crabs. Own 6 PPs, 29 gallon tank. I live in PA and winter gets cold. Already its in the high 40s and low 50s outside. I am using a 20 gallon zoomed UTH on the side of the crabitat and a 75 watt heating bulb on top of the wire cover. The humidity I keep at a constant 75-80 but the hea...
